    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Secks and Happy Easter!' Thread Yeah, I remember the exam was on Friday so on Monday, we had a group of 10 of us who skipped the MPO lecture to go to the library and swap all our answers. I did all the theory ones and tried the practical ones. Practical was a bit harder. We did a...

    Degrees at 2 diff unis

I think 1st year is what is unfair to new students though. Jurisprudence seems to be some gigantic puzzle which you think you have put it together but realise the dog has eaten the remainingf 3 pieces. A lot of work for nothing. Jurisprudence is nicknamed "natural attrition" by some. It is...

    Degrees at 2 diff unis

It has changed to Perspectives on Law (8cp) and Legal Research and Method (6cp). Ask any student at MQ and I know what combination they would rather do. In Harry Potter, Voldemort is the person who shall not be named. At Macquarie Uni, Jurisprudence is the subject that shall not be named...

    Degrees at 2 diff unis

UTS' first year whilst not substantial provides you with the building blocks for undertaking a law degree. Something so necessary as Legal Research is neglected. Then you come into Year 2 subjects and they are like "you didnt research properly"or "poor citation". I like the Foundations and...

    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Secks and Happy Easter!' Thread Hahaha when I did Accounting for Business before my transfer I always enjoyed the Accounting for Business classes so much so that I took Option C 100% final. I got a D anyway so it was good. I found the mid semester awfully difficult. You prepare...

    Degrees at 2 diff unis

I have 3 options (1) Stay at MQ and do a BA/LLB instead (2) Do B Bus (UTS) and LLB simultaenously at diff unis (3) Do B Bus then seek grad entry to Law at UTS I can get a DFEE place at UTS but would like to avoid it (edit) I think MQ need a post grad on campus degree. I would think...

    400/500 Law Electives

Tabris, you do Labour Law right? How do you find it so far? I reckon it is one of the best subjects I have done so far.

    Degrees at 2 diff unis

I understand that it may be terribly complicated and that there may be equivalent MQ degreee to complete but I was wondering if you would be able to do 1 degree at MQ and 1 at UTS. Effectively, I was at UTS doing a Business degree majoring in HRM.For the B Business degree, I would only need...

    Intellectual Property: Opinions?

Hi, I am thinking about doing IP Law next semester. I was wondering if anyone who has done it/ or knows anyone who has done it, could possibly answer a few questions. (1) Is it difficult in terms of understanding the context? (2) Is it time consuming? (3) Is the assessment difficult...

    cut-off for B economics

Double major: you specialise in 2 different areas within 1 degree Double degree: you complete 2 separate degrees usually with a single major. Effectively, a double degree gives you additional scope in the areas you want to study i.e. cores and majors for both degrees. I would look at a...

Lecture Slides - How long before lecture?

I prefer the notes with the lecture as well though. Though many times, I will listen and look at the slide as the lecturer speaks and make notes compared to that slide ie slide 9...... X Y Z If I cant attend, I will use i lecture and the notes simultaneously after the lecture and make any...

    Law 114 Jurisprudence - 2008

Im in between 3rd and 4th year. I dont know if I should really give everyone my opinions on all the Law units I have/done or am doing because I dont really want to make people think differently (negatively) about them. Would have no problems doing that on MSN though. PM me your address...

    Law 114 Jurisprudence - 2008

Hahaha hold that birthday message for a week then! Thats good to hear about Jurisprudence. Glad to see someone actually enjoy it. Is it the only law unit you are doing this semester. Is Denise Meyerson running Jurisprudence? The 90% final definitely beats the 2 x 2 essays that we had. I...

Lecture Slides - How long before lecture?

I reckon the lecturers are quite smart in that regard. Most of my subjects are up after the lecture. I think it is a good point because people actually listen and take notes rather than just look around the room. Granted I prefer i lecture, I can have the notes when I listen to the lecture.
