    London Explosion

sorry to be realistic, but money doesn't do that much for africa, especially raised by G8. Free trade is useful, medical aid could be, but if you save 200 million people, you've got to feed 200 million people, and most countries don't think about that. Any money you give gets used in...

    London Explosion

man, not to be an asshole or anything, but has anyone noticed that the war on terror is THE best spectator sport?? I mean, anything that even remotely looks like terrorism, we all go any glue ourselves to the TV. If i were rich and owned a TV station, id blow things up and video tape them...

Does anyone sail (a boat that is)?

funny, but I have actually seen someone sail a bathtub - no joke. i've also seen someone surf on a upturned table, ski behind a rowboat (mythbusters) and some (crazy germans) water ski behind a hobie cat. So, sailing a large rock, maybe not, but a kitchen sink is possible.

Does anyone here sail? If so, what do you sail? Which yacht club? How long?

    Heil Hitler

This guy, and the guy above know what they are is talking about. Just because hitler was evil, doesn't mean we cannot admire his strengths. One country nearly beat the rest of the world in one massive war. Thats a strength. I would go as far as saying that hitler and many other experienced...

    some Qs bout med

thats alright lexi, i was a stupid and noticable mistake, and at the time, i have to admit, I was cut, but I'm over it now. Besides, I'd much rather have an obsesive-compolsive doctor operating on me than one who's not, they're much less likely to make mistakes or leave surgical equipment in...

    UTAS Medicine

i agree with you that these unis need to ensure they have enough doctors per head of pop. but allocating places for local students may not be the best way of doing it. At the end of the day, many doctors move after recieving their degree, both for personal reasons and spelcalty training. It's a...

    some Qs bout med

very funny, but my english is still better than my German. BTW, not to be offensive or anything, but people who run a spell check on every post they make on BoS are sad, to say the least. -or at least obsessive-compolsive. I will give you credit for your joke though, very funny.

    some Qs bout med

6 years of medical school + 2 years low paid internship + 4 to 6 years average pay fellowship = not that fast but I agree with you, med or law is much better pay than working uneducated. but the real money is in business or some law specialties (if there is such a thing) like international...

    some Qs bout med

either way (law or Med), the first few years you either spend: a(law). Continuosly kissing ass while making cups of coffee, photocopying, running erronds, researching the cases that aren't yours, for senior lawyers in your firm. BTW, you also have to sell your soul. b(medicine). Working 14...

    UTAS Medicine

half an hour later....... I downloaded the UTAS medicine handbook. I agree with mike that interstate students are classed as A2 students, but the number of places for interstate was blanked out on the copy I downloaded. Quote: "Offers will be made in accordance with the target numbers...

    UTAS Medicine

this is an extract from the eMJA Available From: http://www.mja.com.au/public/issues/180_12_210604/letters_210604_fm-3.html -Scroll to bottom to find table 2: Interstate mobility (number of students attending medical school in another state — first-year Australian students, 2003)...

    UTAS Medicine

I basically would go to any uni in Australia. I live on the Gold Coast, so JCU is almost as far away as tassie. Also I have rellies in tassie (this is probably a good reason not to go :D ), and UTAS's old course has a really good rep as far as academic medicine goes. Of course this could change...
