i wouldn't become too relient on just notes, when writing notes you tend to unconciously omit information and therefore your notes don't have as much substance as you need. i wouldn't worry about your notes too much, just continue to write as you for good summaries of information, but continue...

I agree with this. I don't really like reading ahead. I feel I gain a better understanding of it when I actually do it in class, and then revise later. :).

how likely it is depends purely upon how good you are on the subject, not the scaling.

yes. i got 85 in the English SC and came 5/70 in prelim for advanced english. oh and i also did ext 1 for a good portion of the year, but dropped it because i hated it.

you can get 99+ with ANY range of subjects. there isn't like a little annotated note against subjects that entirely prevents you from getting a great atar when you take them.

this. this is my personal preference, i just find that i cannot study off of other people's notes. i need to write my own up in order to gain a greater understanding of what i'm learning.

potentially problematic in that you don't yet have a concept and your texts may not fit the concept you develop. finding related material too early can also lead to the possibility that your concept may primarily stem from your related texts, as opposed to your set text, which is the wrong way...

well, you have to consider that arguably the smarter portion of the year 12 body would be on this forum. this forum isn't really the best way to judge the frequency of atars. it is a rank after all, meaning there is somebody in the state receiving all those other numbers not posted here.
