we have chicks at my school exactly the same - don't hand in anything, are supposedly "too busy" and then have a whinge when they get awarded 0. i wish they would just drop out, waste of space.

i feel the same way. i thought i'd hate it, but i really don't think it's that bad... definitely a hell of a lot better concept than journeys or change.

doesn't that depend on the weighting? i know for some of my subjects the weighting for assessments and trials are around the same (for one, our trials are only 15%).

ah right it all makes sense now. :)
