    Fantasy novels

Yes, and therefore more enjoyable. Rowling is easy to read because it's not all that well-written. The concepts are great, and that's what makes it so popular. LOTR, on the other hand, has both great concepts and fantastic writing. People now find it boring and hard to read because they...

    Fantasy novels

My God you are stupid. LOTR is only boring if you've got the attention span of a rock and an IQ lower than your age. I would say your high, but I've been told that only enhances the experience of reading LOTR. Will try sometime. Heh heh heh, no reply = we know the answer. I'd say the...

    Frontline ok as related?

It used to be part of the HSC English course; my sister did it in 2007. It isn't now however, so I don't see why it should be "frowned upon". Good show; smart, witty. Use it if you can, it's very flexible.

"Stephenie Meyers can't write" - Stephen King

Vampires (nearly) always have super speed and strength. This has been so since the days of Anne Rice, and even before that in the days of dracula. In Dracula the vampire can turn into bats, and this has been replicated quite often in pop culture, but many of the founding vampire novels (again...

"Stephenie Meyers can't write" - Stephen King

Like when he gets shot by a Twi-tard? I don't know; some of the great vampire books I've read have diverged from convention. I reckon if you got a really good author to write Stephenie Meyer's ideas (with regards to vampire mythology - NOT her plots), it could be done well. With regards to...

    Fantasy novels

Anyone heard of the "Song of Ice and Fire" by George R. R. Martin? Every book in this series so far has been great (maybe because he takes like 4 years to write each one - grrr). They're quite long though; each one would be about as long as all three LOR books.

K so back to ATAR, there is very little difference. Refer to the conversion table and that's about the extent of it for now. Our ranks will be relative to our cohort from year 7.

Re: 回复: Re: How do we pronounce ATAR? My thoughts exactly. However, in the context of this thread, "UAI" is an incredibly strange way to pronounce "ATAR".

    are my hsc subjects solid?

With regards to scaling, all of your subjects are reasonably good - super awesome. However, for all I know, in this new ATAR system, 4u Maths scales badly, DT scales well, up is down, down is up, and 1 + 1 = 7.
