    I need a job.

Yeah, this is true. Heaps of Law lecturers don't have PhDs. Some of them are practicing lawyers/barristers. But, a vast majority of my Arts (Politics) lecturers have PhDs. I wonder why this is.... As PaterzAttack said - in most cases (especially at the junior level) - refereeing is a hobby...

    I need a job.

There's always the next year's worth of HSC students. There's always kids that need to be tutored. :p

You were lucky though. Connections. :p How are you finding that place?

    I need a job.

That's heaps [for an admin job]. I used to get paid a bit less as a legal assistant of sorts in a decent law firm. :p

I think -may-cat- is a bit harsh with regards to school awards. If you're short on things to say, there's no harm in having school awards that date back to Year 10-ish. Even further if it was something noteworthy [The Prime Minister's Award for Whatever]. For a retail job for school...

A Day In The Life of a Law Student

My Crim exam was Tony, Kevin and Julia. Julia sexually assaulting Tony, and then Kevin being assaulted by Julia. Too bad Julia didn't cause grievous bodily harm/wounding by kniving Kevin in the back. :P Our problem question for Torts last year was something like: "Blake fell off Clayton's...

A Day In The Life of a Law Student

Not at all. Law isn't like the HSC - it's not about regurgitating facts: Atkins LJ in Donoghue v Stevenson said X. It's about saying: "In this scenario, the defendant has injured her shoulder, after dropping a tub of Sasha Ly icecream (sidenote: izzy88, I'm so proud of myself, I can make lame...

What HSC English mark would you recommend for law?

I got a high ATAR due to my 'strengths' in Maths and Science. I'm doing about average in law school. University and high school draw upon two entirely different skills, in my opinion.

A Day In The Life of a Law Student

I actually prefer closed book. :p I'm not too bad at memorising cases. Statute is usually provided in any case. Ergh, I wish I could get my timetable into two days. USYd sucks. :p

What HSC English mark would you recommend for law?

It doesn't matter - so long as you get the marks required for law.

I didn't see you doing QR, jaychouf4n, after you failed to get into Comm/Law outright.

    Future of the Union

I was quite surprised at this. Bit low of the University to be doing this whilst: 1. There's no Honi Soit to rebut comments 2. It's STUVAC/SWOTVAC, so many people are too busy to check uni-emails and/or information like this cannot be disseminated as easily as it could otherwise. 3. Whilst the...
