    Youth Allowance Eligibility

I lived the 'practical realities' of my argument for my first two years at uni. The first year without YA and without support from my parents I lived on around $250 p/w Rent: 120 Food: 50 Utilities: 50 Incidentals/Entertainment: 40 And being honest there was room to make cuts even in that. I...

How do you reconcile those positions?

How big is your sex drive?

1-2 a day on average. There are days when I'm tired and cbf but there are other days that I'm keen for 3+ I agree with Matt though.... I don't think I could sustain 3+ times a day every day....

    Youth Allowance Eligibility

Would you suggest that Labour Market Region (or their constituent Employment Service Areas) is taken into consideration when determining eligibility? If so would this apply to unemployment benefits because if they were also increased/expanded it could create disincentives to work.... I would...

    Youth Allowance Eligibility

While I cbf looking up the stats I agree that the Canberra labour market is generally a healthy one. In my naivete this wasn't a factor that I considered when I moved here so I was fortuitous in that sense. I have also been fortuitous in terms of the specific employment opportunities available...

    Youth Allowance Eligibility

The thrust of this post is that some peoples parents may be able to support their children but chose not to and therefore the government should. This is nothing short of ludicrous and obscene. Let us lay some ground-rules here. A high-income means a greater capacity to afford things. High...

    Youth Allowance Eligibility

ahahahahhaha $250 a week rent??? It is not the role of the taxpayer to keep you in the manner to which you are accustomed.... I earn more than the median household income and I pay ~$175p/w And as a student the first sharehouse was $110p/w.... + around $90p/w in utilities and food.

    Youth Allowance Eligibility

I managed fine. A year of no YA, just some money I saved working over the break and part-time work. Then I got YA did a little work on top and had plenty.

    Youth Allowance Eligibility

Fair comment. And I'll watch the video when I get home. I would look at my model as a kind of 'proof-of-concept'/pilot program because if HECS were abolished tomorrow then I'm not sure if financial institutions would be willing to take the risk of offering student loans. So in the long-term...

    Youth Allowance Eligibility

The views expressed are my own and do not represent in any way the opinions/plans of my employer and have not been informed by any data/information which is outside of the public domain. I have voted no because while I think YA should exist in some form the form which I envisage is so...

Woman avoids jail after 'very drunk' sex with boy, 14

You fail to actually address the points I made. Re-iterating your position does not an argument make.

Should religions enjoy tax exempt status?

Far from it. I do believe we just agreed for the third time in as many days. I think that taxation and the state must exist however must be minimised. Insofar as taxation exists it should apply to corporations, religions and charities equally because they all benefit from the services which a...

Woman avoids jail after 'very drunk' sex with boy, 14

You are speculating that it is more likely that a man does harm than a woman. That is gendered thinking and is a double standard. Of course the justice system should consider things on a case by case basis (that is the entire point of a common law system), however the justice system can't do...

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS .. thoughts and opinions?

I think you confuse soveriegnty with related concepts of nationalism and the nation-state, these concepts rely on sovereignty but sovereignty does not rely on them.

Should religions enjoy tax exempt status?

Should religions be tax exempt? And the slightly curlier question imo is that if religions are not tax exempt then where does this leave religious/church-based charities?
