You think I'd have better things in life to do than carry this on, but I don't so here's my reply.
So far I have been mainly speaking about contractions in text titles as opposed to +'s (Although the same arguments should apply-just that title contractions save alot more time). At any rate, you...
Do you even know the meaning of fallen angel? There are two prerequisites.
1. You have to at one stage have been an angel.
2. You have to have fallen.
The people of Los Angeles are the Forsaken not the Fallen. Thats the whole point, they're the Colonies rejects put quite simply, left to...
Thats not true. As long as you make what you are referring to clear at first (obviously) then there really is no problem. Its not saying that you spit on the English language and all its conventions, its simply saying that you'd like to maximise the amount of relevant info. Also if it were a...
A simple sort of thesis could be something like, power is one of the fundamental forces which drives the actions of humanity. A study of the texts... can serve to illustrate the intrinsic effect that our relationship with power has on both ourselves and our environment.
Hi, can anyone tell me exactly how much of this is based on critics and how much is purely independent analysis of the text. So far I've focused my response on the critics (Johnson and Eliot), and their contexts, and bringing in my own analysis of both as well as the poems themselves along the...
Having a cost element in the voting actually provides more accuracy. Think about it, chances are that if you don't think an artists music is worth 50c, you won't pay $30 for it. Therefore, that vote really is useless in determining who could be the best "Idol". All making it free does is dilute...
Its not really recommended. Even aside from this, it stands to reason that its often easier to choose texts which aren't as widely used. That way you can save the marker a bit of boredom and avoid disagreement if they have differing views on the text.:)
I have a few essays, creative pieces etc if anyone's interested in comparing notes on postmodernism so just pm me if interested. My e-mail is thomashosking@hotmail.com.
I would like to know why (in that last ep) they didn't just beam up a naquida/naquidria enhanced warhead instead of the dynamic duo like they did to kill Ra. But on the other hand that would prob make for a pretty boring season.;)
Both John and Batty could be said to have been introduced as fallen angels. This was obvious with Batty (Milton quote) and in the case of John, in that he has "fallen" from the "Heaven" of the "New World". Why did I use so many "?
This link contains both Johnson's original critique and a commentary. Searching the web encyclopedia's should get you info on Classicism and Modernism. The attached file is an annotated copy of Eliot's criticism I found online. If you need any more info on Johnson and Eliot pm me and I'll try...
"Never rub another man's rhubarb."-Joker, Batman
"I'm not a con-artist, I'm a Dapper-Dan man."-Oh Brother Whereart Thou
"If at first you don't succeed, I'll kill him, and you can try again."-Spike, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Stargate's a great show. The script writing is great, and has the odd reference to Maguyver (Anderson's other big role), and a good mix of serious drama and comedy. The special effects get better every season. Most importantly though, the show has continuity. Unlike most other sci-fi shows...
True. Hey maybe I could the BOS's dogmatic rejection of "certain" texts to assert its own power as a text itself. I see many parallels with the RC Church in the Renaissance. Now all we need is a Galileo.:D
Thats what I thought too. Although maybe they'll gradually become more acceptable when people are able to separate them from "pong". Like how anime gradually became separated from Superfriends and accepted for what its worth.
