    Counterstrike Global Offensive Thread

I bought this on my Xbox One recently (it's the 360 version technically). Still fun to play but I never realised it actually isn't smooth. I also enjoy playing on my very basic but portable gaming setup.

    Fitbit

I realised when my Fitbit ran out of battery and I lost half a day of steps... this actually annoyed me greatly!

    Sunk Cost Fallacy

In this example yes, but I think what would have been more correct would be whether or not there was an opportunity for partial or full refund/credit/exchange kindof thing by not attending.

    Sunk Cost Fallacy

There's a lot of back and forth but isn't the ultimate point that when faced with a 'new' decision, you only look at incremental in/outflows and disregard what you may already have spent?

    Playstation VR - game changer?

At $550 it isn't cheap but it's affordable. I'm most interested to see how it works in practice and not just a tech demo spree - loads of potential. Not sure if being tethered to a cord at my couch is that much better than playing on a big TV but I'm up for trying it. Hope I don't get dizzy.

Need help on buying a better laptop

agreed. I used to have a Surface 3 and it was a great device. Perfect for uni if it's powerful enough. Just remember to budget for the keyboard, and definitely go up spec model. You can get educational pricing too.

First time renting with no payslips.

Bank statements are a good way to show you have cash, regular income, etc. But that being said if you aren't earning enough to get income tax... from the landlord's perspective, how are you going to ensure they don't feel like they run the risk of you not being able to pay rent and/or not...

    Cadetships 2016

This. Unfortunately it's not the same experience for every single person in every single business unit/service line, etc... That being said, if you do have the luxury of choice, go with the one you connect with. Whilst there are some generalisations about each of the big 4, ultimately it comes...

Do you regret going/not going to Uni ?

No regrets doing Commerce (Accounting/Finance). I think it was the broader learnings on topics like legal which I appreciated more, and also working in lots of group assignments and having to find different ways to study/prepare for exams... (obviously without it, I wouldn't have a job now!)

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 (and Surface Book)

Feels a little bulkier but comparable to say a MacBook Air. It's far more rugged now though so I feel safer chucking it in a bag or using it outdoors in case it should fall off the table. It's a few hundred grams though which is a lot in scheme of tablets. On another note the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2...

Not counting the usual WhatsApp/FB/etc... Spotify, Messenger, Hue, Swarm/Foursquare, and a couple of store/rewards specific apps (CapitaLand malls in Singapore, Starbucks, etc).

    Cadetships 2016

Yep. With rolling recruitment, it doesn't hurt to submit earlier.

    Cadetships 2016

Stickied! It's a bit early to know which firms are offering cadetships this year or when the due dates are, but hey, doesn't hurt to put this up!

    Is Actuarial studies for me?

Question is what do you want to achieve out of all this? Do you actually want to work in a role where having the actuarial background would be valued- i.e. insurance, valuations, risk management, economics, etc..?
