Do you support an increase to the GST?

When you post the question like that, I would be surprised if anyone said yes. If you said would I support a reduction in income tax to support this measure, then why yes I would. Only because I'm answering out of self interest knowing that I probably save and invest enough to benefit from a...

    Tipping in Australia - Dailytelegraph

Interesting article but it really depends on the type of establishment you're dining at. It's nowhere near as bad as the US where everyone expects a tip regardless of how crummy of a job they've done and what they're doing. For me, I think my propensity to tip definitely increased over time...

Selling brand new iPad Air 2 wifi+cellular 16gb space grey (comes with free case)

I'm still surprised you won a cellular model rather than the basic wifi only model!

    Top Gear without Jeremy Clarkson?

That all being said I still enjoy having TG rather than not. It always provides great 'background' TV for me when I'm working. I don't mind season 22 so much (I'm only upto episode 4) but there were definitely better moments in seasons gone by.

    Buying HD notes?

Unless it's a subject where it's open book and you can bring in those notes with you into an exam, I fail to see how buying HD notes would be better for you than the textbooks/lecture materials. You also assume that nothing has changed between when they wrote those HD notes and when you study...

    Do you work part-time/casual?

Sounds like you have a great opportunity in front of you. I'd go for it if I were you but obviously be mindful of when you need to study/prep for uni, and if needed, you may need to bring forward some of your study plans to give you buffer in case something unexpected happens.

    Top Gear without Jeremy Clarkson?

Seems sad to even contemplate but no doubt it won't be long before he ends up another network if the parting really does end up happening. http://www.autoevolution.com/news/jeremy-clarkson-quits-top-gear-show-cancelled-for-good-93287.html (be sure to read all the updates at the bottom - only...

    Do you work part-time/casual?

Sounds like a good gig if you get good experience too - not sure how relevant it is to your career path though. FWIW I did full time uni and full time study simultaneously for a few years. 6 hours on a Sunday isn't going to be that bad and besides you can use the 2 hours on the train to either...

A Guide To Maximising Your Graduate Employability Whilst At University

I'd say a lot of it depends on what you stand to gain, develop or learn in each role. If the key thing you'd get out of the job is already achieved (e.g. to show you are committed or able to follow a schedule), then you maybe it's time to see what else you can do. When the money is good though...

How much do you pay for gym?

FWIW whilst many people (myself included) complain about the price, unless you're going to the most premium of expensive gyms, the price differential in dollar terms is never going to be that significant when you spread out the marginal cost across the number of sessions you actually have at the...

Workshop - Improving Your Cadetship/Internship/Graduate Applications

Haha you guys realise I wasn't there right? Sounds like the session went well and big credit to Trebla and the team for pulling this together.

Workshop - Improving Your Cadetship/Internship/Graduate Applications

Agreed. Recruitment for a graduate program is a two way street. It's as much about them finding good candidates and employees as it is about you finding an organisation which you connect with and feel genuinely supported in to further your career and development.

How much do you pay for gym?

A lot of my friends moved to uni gyms as full time students which is also an option. For me, I think as you get to the age of moving out/renting then just get a place with a (decent) gym.

Workshop - Improving Your Cadetship/Internship/Graduate Applications

Hope the event went well guys. There was some really good quality content in there and was based on very real experiences in the recruitment and scholarship process. At the end of the day, whether it's scholarship, internship, cadetship, graduate... unless you're applying for a skills based role...

enrolling in two uni at the same time?

I just fail to see the point in this. If you have this much time on your hands, then do something else which will help improve yourself whether it's getting a job, pursuing a hobby, doing charity work, etc... If one really feels so compelled to study and they have a job lined up then maybe...

How much do you pay for gym?

I used to think being stuck on a Fitness First contract was a bad thing... but once it was finished, I felt like I was getting rate hikes every 6 months. What started off as $20/fortnight for passport on corporate plan had climbed to $40 in a couple of years. Ended up quitting the gym after that...

Why are Australians so lazy, I mean laid back?

This. The guys who second or transfer to Sydney always are shocked by how much harder we work than they expected. I still remember once I had a guy from HK working for me and he said he wouldn't be in the following week because he had booked a holiday. I asked whom he asked permission for to...

Changing schools in the middle of year 12?

There have been others who have changed schools right before the HSC but it's generally not out of choice (e.g. being expelled or politely asked to leave). Given you can't drop down since you don't have enough units, I don't think they can force you can they? Unless you take up another subject...
