    What Phone Do You Use?

CF as in carbon fibre. And Aerath, why BB? I have to admit I really hate being tied to BES and being unable to just connect to the internet via wifi when abroad to download emails. Seems so trivial but I'm glad I have my iPhone for that.

    The new iPad

Just isn't the same IMO. I'm still impressed how Apple managed to turn the iOS platform into a gaming platform with some decent quality games/developers... and better yet, they're heaps cheaper than console games which suits very casual/occasional gamers like me :)

    How do we rate Optus?

    Telstra > Optus > 3 > Voda ... has been my experience.

    What Phone Do You Use?

You really like the CF look don't you? I was wowed by it too and surprisingly, the build quality isn't bad. Not a fan of digging my nail in to get the back clip off my Optus BB 9900. ps. Is that yours? How'd you get the entire back off?

I was RIDICULOUSLY lost during a fins lecture lol

I found 1613 to be daunting too and didn't do as well as I did in 1612 (which was a piece of cake in comparison). Don't fret too much because whilst it's tough at first, try to put some time into doing your readings. You know you're at a slight disadvantage but it doesn't mean you can't catch...

    ASB Graduation 12th March 6.30pm

Sorry can't help more- if I were you I'd just keep calling everyday to ask if anyone has pulled out or if more tickets become available. My graduation ceremony was only about 80% full and from what I heard in the days leading up to the ceremony, heaps of people got more tickets. Keep trying and...

    The new iPad

Looks good, sounds good, impressive features, Retina display to die for, affordable pricing, etc. ... but I still have no use for one. I prefer the safety of a full computer with me so I carry my Macbook Air which I can type much faster on, do everything I need to do, run Excel, play games...

    Wealthy dominate Selective Schools

The point I was getting at is that the coop scholarship isn't just handing money out but it involves more than that and it's a two way street. Read any of my other posts on BoS- I'm an advocate of the coop programs (and cadetships).

    Wealthy dominate Selective Schools

Co op scholarship requires one to work at least for about 1.5 years (3 placements * half a year each). Assuming they are paid over 4 years, that's $60k all up. You get better money working full time at Maccas.

    ASB Graduation 12th March 6.30pm

Seriously? How many tickets did you ask for because there were plenty of tickets available when I wanted additional ones- you just need to wait until like... a week before the ceremony which would be now. Good luck finding some though.

    Wealthy dominate Selective Schools

I was from a selective high school and I'm proud of it. I've done reasonably well out of it and I now pay my fair share of taxes to the government to support the next generation of people in public schools including selectives. Being in a selective school by no means guarantees future success in...

    Essay structure

Yeah given the current economic climate and the strong AUD, it's really difficult to try and explain the different reasons behind supply and demand. A lot of the concepts, even those which have proven to be a bit limited, are typically taught at university level (e.g. interest rate parity theory...

    help with polynomial, please

Please avoid this in the future- it's a waste of our time having to go through and delete it from all the other places you left it. Posting the same thing all over the BoS forums does NOT improve your chances of getting a response especially when you do it in irrelevant locations. And, you have...

    How to address lecturers?

Assuming you've met them before or been in a lecture they would've introduced themself as "Hi, I'm John" or "Hi I'm Dr Ross Geller" and that's a good idea as to how you should address them in an email. Typically I usually use first name basis even if they are a doctor (but then I'm not a student...

    Co-op Scholarship eligibility

Fair point but I think the coop program is a great way of offering work experience in relevant firms or companies which otherwise wouldn't take in students at that level and or for that length of time.
