That being said if you want it on your degree you need to inform the relevant office/faculty/administrators.
EDIT: Well, that's how it was back in the day when I did Commerce at UNSW. Might be different now (e.g. automated, online perhaps, etc).
Without knowing what your university is like in terms of courses/majors, have you double checked that you meet all the prerequisites for either CA or CPA (depending on which one you intend to study)?
Re: Investment banker vs Accountant
Two extremely different fields. There may be occasions where the work overlaps (for example, I am doing due diligence work for my clients because the IBers need something for their due diligence defence), but for the most part, they are very different...
Depends if you like economics/want to study it/want to work in that field. Instead of just doing what other people are doing, think about what you might want to do or achieve, and go from there.
ps. Please try to keep all your X vs Y questions in a single thread. I have merged them now.
I reckon you could probably negotiate to do the CFA first (and do CA later) but that would be a conversation you have to have with your counsellor at the firm. Agreed with runnable it's probably more relevant to the industry and more important later on when you want to move to more on (and...
Multiple is an understatement.
I leave at 3am maybe once or twice a year, and at midnight about 20% of the year. And I'm in audit. Such is the way of Commerce particularly in FS-related industries.
I work on DD stuff in my firm and a CA definitely helps because you need to understand not only how financial statements work, but the intricacies of a) how they differ from 'true' cash flows/profits; and b) how they vary between countries (e.g. AIFRS, IFRS, US GAAP, and any other markets which...
At least with actuarial studies/applied maths, you're using your maths skills/knowledge to try and calculate something relevant to the real world (e.g. risk of someone dying).
My parents had a 900i and it wasn't very reliable when it was new, so I don't see it being any more reliable now. That being said I did like it back then and thought it had character- something many new cars lack.
That being said like others have suggested, spend a bit more and get hassle free...
LOL not a CA until I:
a) pass
b) register
Congrats on getting the CF role. CA is generally important because at the end of the day, they're chartered firms and it's expected not just internally but externally too. That being said you can usually negotiate if you feel it's not really suitable...
Re: how long does commerce degree (cadetship) take? I have no idea sorry..
1. Please reread the same post that you are quoting from.
2. Each subject typically involves 3 to 4 contact hours per week depending on length of the lecture (some are 2 hours, some are 3), number of tutorials and...
Re: what would be the commerce (majoring in marketing and accounting) contact hour be
Contact hours should be around the 12-13 hour mark per week during session as far as I know.
ps. Misleading post above has been removed. Please remember this is not a social board.
Re: how long does commerce degree (cadetship) take? I have no idea sorry..
Normal commerce degree is 3 years full time (i.e. 3 years * 2 semesters a year * 4 courses a semester). A cadetship usually involves stretching one of those years into two by doing part time or half load of 2 courses...
Here are some articles on the topic to give people some ideas on what's being discussed:

It's really more for the benefit of others (particularly those who aren't really knowledgeable) who may stumble upon this thread and actually be serious.
