What car will you get as your first car?

From memory though coloured mirror caps are an option. Wait until you're in a position to buy and live with and you'll see there are much bigger differences. Ironically I found the BMW brand far more arrogant and this was evident in their dealerships- I was keen to buy either a 135i or 325i...

What car will you get as your first car?

Guess so but even in that case you usually have some idea of what is/isn't reasonable. *shrugs* I met a spoilt 16 y/o kid not long ago who was looking to get a 5 series for his first car. Sigh, he'll never appreciate what makes the BMW so great.

What car will you get as your first car?

I used to really like the Cooper and wanted one for my first car since they start at $29990... but realistically driveaway you're looking at mid-30's if you're careful with the options but realistically expect it to come in closer to the 40 mark. A Cooper S is even more.

What car will you get as your first car?

Am I the only one who's perplexed by the person who asks for advice on what car to get, can't answer what their budget is? :S

What car will you get as your first car?

Only reason I'd call out on this one is a 370z is a prohibited P plate vehicle and it's highly unlikely an HSC student would have a full drivers licence (or a relevant exemption) to drive this car. But hey if you have that car and it was given to you, good for you. I drove the coupe a few times...

What car will you get as your first car?

It felt too fast when I test drove it and when I was driving it home from the dealer. ... but after a couple of track sessions and owning it for a year, I felt the need for more power and hence went with the intake/exhaust/custom dyno tune route yielding a nice bump up from about 165kW to...

I thought it was worth bumping this thread since some of the mods have been PM'd about this topic.

    Only at James Ruse...

At the end of the day a school is only as good as it's students and teachers are. It just so happens that there's a higher concentration of people who are academically oriented in said school. Doesn't mean anything else- you can still do poorly in the HSC even in the best school, and you can...

What car will you get as your first car?

LOL bugger. All the other guys on AUSCA came for a ride- in the wet. Still pulled hard in any gear. No you don't. Evo's are shit to live with and they are not good for amateurs. Heck, even in stock form I thought it was way too powerful for me (coming from a Civic 1.8L). Save up- I...

    Advice on dress shoes/ jeans

I've seen way too many fakes on eBay so for jeans, you're paying for a long term item which will last you a long time so may as well not cheap out too much. I personally spend between $100-$200 per pair of jeans unless they're during sale season.

    haircut in sydney

I always go to Kim Sun Young whether it's in Strathfield, Burwood or Town Hall. It's all about $20 for a cut + wash (I usually do cut first then wash rather than other way around so it washes out all the loose hairs). The head massage when washing/shampooing hair is so awesome.

    Who still wears a watch?

I really like those damn iPod Nano watches... but on another note, my friend keeps trying to get me to buy an overpriced watch but $5k+ is just way too much to spend on something which I feel doesn't offer much value. Surely socialites and the upper echelons of society won't look down upon me...

Re: Investment banker vs Accountant That's why I moved to Pyrmont :)

Re: Investment banker vs Accountant Not unfathomable though given there's still 48 other hours left in the week for sleeping.

What car will you get as your first car?

Agreed. I miss my Evo now that I think about it. Yes it was obnoxious and it was not efficient at all, but it was fun.

Re: Investment banker vs Accountant Might be worth adding that I don't think anyone in this thread has actually worked in IB.

    BCom/BA orrrrr BCom(International) at UNSW??

What are you aspiring to do career wise? Whilst you can reach the conclusion you got to regarding cutoffs and whether it makes it a better course, etc... it needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

    BCom/BA orrrrr BCom(International) at UNSW??

Agreed with D94- ATAR is based on supply/demand rather than which course is better. As for which one to choose, keep in mind that language is something which is very challenging at university level and it'll impact your WAM (weighted average mark). WAM is the one number which employers ask for-...

No probs. I think it'll be interesting to hear what the others on here reckon as well since I'm very much FS and accounting focussed.

Need help! Majors and Minors for Bachelor of Commerce.

Next question is how set are you on accounting? It sounds like you are, and that's good because accounting jobs don't tend to care about WAM too much. That being said, at least from my friends experience in UNSW, languages are very difficult to do well in and are WAM-killers. You'll always have...
