IPT Raw Mark Band 6 Cut-Off.

^ there's no real way to gauge so I'd say if that's what you got in CSSA, expect something similar.

CA Program - Ask questions, get answers! (new and improved)

EBA wasn't too bad. Exam was a lot easier than any other CA module so far but I better *touch wood*!

Whats A Good Looking Car For Pickin Up?

I'd say it also works on impressing guys if your car doesn't smell like crap. Air freshners and no rubbish/wrappers/food scraps in the interior do wonders. Spend a bit of time (or money) and keep it clean inside and out.

What car will you get as your first car?

Good luck passing first go but you don't need a high powered car for your first car- it's so much better to work your way up with power and 'grow' into it. It'll also make you a better driver if you can make do with less power and have to develop good habits/skills. (and petrol will probably be...

    CADETSHIPS 2012 Discussion Thread

Again, holy smokes at how long your question list is. After this I don't think I'll be replying anymore for a while unless you concentrate your questions into something a bit easier to read/digest. 1. I find auditing fun but not everyone else. 2. Transportation is based on most efficient in...

    CADETSHIPS 2012 Discussion Thread

holy smokes you ask a lot of questions- you realise that's why they had the info sessions, congratulatory evenings, HR information nights, etc... right??! I hope everything works out for you because based on the questions you're asking, I wouldn't offer you a traineeship purely on your lack of...

    Thornleigh McDonalds

Totally forgot about this thread :) And it depends what time you go. I'm surprised how crowded it gets at late hours- it's not uncommon for it to be say 75% full at 11pm!

    CADETSHIPS 2012 Discussion Thread

I only know from experience in my own firm. That being said from what I've heard, I don't think mid-tiers offer the same benefits but I would expect you to be provided with the tools required to do your job. You shouldn't be so concerned with the freebies or perks because if that's all you're...

    CADETSHIPS 2012 Discussion Thread

Can't believe you joined just to post that but I may as well respond: 1. B Commerce, UNSW (back when I did it) 2. Big4 firm 3. Pay is good especially considering it's only 4 days a week during semester. 4. I wouldn't call it a 'free laptop' but rather you are provided with a laptop to enable you...

    Who still wears a watch?

Pocket watch? That's old school- that'd be akin to a phone I'd imagine (except it'd be classier)

    Who still wears a watch?

Just wondering... am currently debating whether or not to bother getting one. Unlike some of my friends who buy extravagant (4 or 5 digit watches), if I were to get one it'd be something cheap/effective (i.e. under $100) e.g. http://www.dealfox.com.au/casio-watch-efa-110d-7avdf . Practically...

best degrees for getting into investment banking???

It could very well be a $250k base salary not including super or bonus... I don't know any IBers who have been in the industry that long who can tell me how much they earn after 5 years (as opposed to hearsay).

Diesel cars - yay or nay?

I've got a C250 CDI which has a 2.1L twin turbocharged diesel engine (150kW/500Nm). It pulls amazingly well (but not violently so like the Evo did), yet I can average under 6L/100km in a mixture of city and highway (i.e. M4) driving.

best degrees for getting into investment banking???

I'll put it this way, it's alot more enjoyable to work hard/overtime/etc because you want to rather than because you have to.

Diesel cars - yay or nay?

Thought it was time to start up a thread asking what people here think of diesel cars. Now that I've had mine for a few months, I'm really loving it. The pulling power, the fuel economy, etc... but then on the other hand, sounds rubbish (thankfully my car has eco stop at traffic lights) and is...

    macquarie for commerce

It's a decent university but you need to consider where you want to go with it, and of course, your university only matters so much- a lot of it does come down to you as an individual when it comes to grad jobs.

DO alot of people want to study commerce and economics?

Clearly yes, based on the ATAR which is a product of supply and demand. That being said, even I wanted to study Comm/Eco back in the day but I decided against it and am glad I did. Eco in uni is a shedload harder and more mathematical than it was in high school!
