    Fuel Consumption

You're correct- that is the right technique. As for misjudging braking distances- that could be the case, or you misjudged the timing of the lights turning green.

    Fines for 4km/h over limit

Agreed with this point. I even bought a digital speedo for my car to combat this problem. I loved the electronic readout in the Civic FD (current gen civic) and couldn't go back to an analogue speedo especially when it comes to speed cameras.

Do I take a Cadetship or not??

I wonder if we know each other (considering that's what my FB pic was for a while!)... hmmmMmm....

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

Apologies for that. My understanding is the ICAA has set timeframes/periods which all firms offering cadetships must adhere to with regards to deadlines for acceptances. From memory it's 3 weeks to accept/reject. Typically Big4 firms make their offers first, then midtiers, etc.. So with...

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

ps. Please DO NOT PM ME unless your question is of a private/personal nature. Generic questions such as "what's the advantages of a coop over a cadetship" can be asked in public and I see no reason why it can't be posted here. You may even get a better response if you get multiple people talking...

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

Well at the end of the day if you've signed a contract saying you will work and they will pay you, it's a signed agreement which you have been offered and you have accepted- i.e. given your word. I know there are many ways to get out of the contract and whatnot, but also keep in mind that beyond...

    Internet Speed

Ahh I still remember the good old days where Bigpond didn't cap you when you went over, and you could go to 20gb (on the Liberty 10gb plan) with no penalty.

So what's the best antivirus to download?

It surprises me that some people run dual antivirus simultaneously. Surely that can't be good considering they are both scanning/fighting for the same level of access rights/privileges. Anyway my vote still goes to Avast.

    Why I hate Nokia now...

Thought I'd add that my N97 Mini has improved tremendously after installing the Nokia Messaging 10.2 update. It fixes the bugs which stopped me from emailing photos from the Gallery/Photos application (e.g. after taking a photo or when viewing). Bit late considering it's July 2010 now though and...

Still not sure if this is the best attitude towards this.

Do I take a Cadetship or not??

I'll address the cons first; 1. If your degree is only 3 years, all you are really doing is stretching one of those years into two. You're getting work experience, paid, improved promotional prospects, better job opportunities when you graduate... IMO not really such a big loss. That also...

    Fuel Consumption

The point I was getting at was that if you're using the driving approach of coasting up to lights and not braking much so you don't need to accelerate, you need to know your brakes very well. This is in contrast to someone who brakes early and applies more pressure so that they definitively come...

What Would You Get For Under 20K?

I believe you would probably be a rarity/exception. Majority of guys I know who bought hi-po cars had parents who drove normal cars and didn't care for (or know much about) driving beyond getting from point A to B. You're fortunate in that your father clearly appreciates cars and also wants to...

Do I take a Cadetship or not??

What are your pros/cons as you see it? We need to know a bit more about you before we can give any real opinion. ALso need to know which division it's for, and whether that's what you see yourself doing.

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

You'd have positive feedback / relevant experience on your CV which is always good but if you do intend to go down that route, you're probably better off with BAcc (as you have higher chance of exposure to those companies) or a Big4 cadetship where you can specialise in the relevant industry...

How many past papers have you done?

Back in my day we did pretty much every past paper we could get our hands on whether it be from our school, or other schools' trial papers. I think the aim was at least one every two-three days per subject or so.
