What would you like to see on BOS?

Faster load times, less spam/trolls, an alternative fast-loading image-less theme (for surfing at public places or on phones where NSFW pics may arise), etc... And a section for other studies outside of tertiary education- e.g. post-grad diplomas (CA)

Hybrid cars- what do you think?

To me though, the thing which really amazes me about hybrid cars is that once you have made the initial fixed cost investment, the variable costs of consumption/driving the car whether it be a short trip to the shops or a long drive around the city, or dropping mates off after a party, etc...

What Would You Get For Under 20K?

That's why I like the no turbos rule. It means that kids have 3 years to get the angstiness out of their system before they can touch any decent (and dangerous) hi performance cars. ps. I used to have a beautiful wing on my Civic FD (along with the full Mugen kit). I know the car isn't fast...

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

LOL single turbos ftw then! My new hate at the moment is people who think that putting your turn signal on automatically gives you right of way when changing lanes. Hello?!

is there any way u can change the title of a thread u made?

I think there is a time delay feature because after a certain amount of time, changing your thread title does NOT update the thread title in the forum topic listing (e.g. refer to my NFSW vs. NSFW thread; the latest edit shows NSFW however it's still NFSW in the thread list)

NFSW signatures - inappropriate or offensive?

NSFW signatures - inappropriate or offensive? I know the FAQ specifically addresses the following; ... but what is deemed offensive material? e.g. a girl in a bikini whilst not technically offensive, makes viewing this site/forum a bit more awkward when in public places, schools, libraries...

    UTS Bachelor of Accounting 2011

Whilst there is nothing stopping you from cancelling on the cadetship contract which you have signed (which remember is still a contractual agreement), keep in mind that it is highly likely the people who are responsible for the BAcc interviews/scholarship process are likely to be the same...

    Fuel Consumption

I think so. Many servos have already phased out 91 and replaced with E10 :( And I agree about the taking the foot off approach- it can make so much difference as you coast to a red (I usually tap the brake very very lightly just so the brake lights are on) and then you lightly accelerate once...

Not meaning to bump an old thread but I've been getting this a lot lately... must be that time of year?

    Fuel Consumption

That's the gist of it. Obviously the highest gear isn't automatically the most fuel efficient at all speeds/rpm. A lot of it comes down to both gearing and your right foot. The right foot can make ALL the difference.

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

Correct. I can't really comment much on midtier cadetships as I didn't go for any 2nd round interviews. My understanding is that 2nd round interviews are where you go for either your partner interview or your group exercise (depending on whichever one you didn't already do in your 1st round)...

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

Of course because you've got good experience and shown commitment to the career path/field. Disagree greatly with this remark purely because when I did my cadetship, we had 4 hours a week off work (i.e. half a day) to do part time uni (2 subjects). But most of my batch including myself...

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

Agreed in principle. Basically with a cadetship, by default you will get the grad contract/offer in conjunction with the grant (i.e. you sign the grad contract in exchange for the grant). On the other hand with coop (both BAcc and UNSW Coop) you are still going to have to apply for grad jobs as...

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

I'd probably go with the BAcc unless you really wanted to work with that particular mid-tier firm. Depends on your reasons for doing it- career progression, short term financial reward, long-term experience, opportunity to try lots of things, networking opportunities, etc... both have different...

    Academic transcript submission for internships

In my experience most online applications include a spot for you to type it in yourself or upload a PDF (have you considered using Print to PDF from your uni's online results or email?). Usually you need to bring in the originals or some kind of printout to your assessment centre/interview...
