Re: Year 11 2012 Chit Chat Thread We'll pull through :] According to some people, 4U is overhyped anyway.

Year 12 2013 Chit Chat Thread

Re: Year 11 2012 Chit Chat Thread I started the HSC 2U and 3U course last year at the start of term 4 as an official class. I did the preliminary courses in the first 3 terms of last year. (When I was in year 10) Since the accelerated course at our school started acceleration in year 9 where...

Year 12 2013 Chit Chat Thread

Re: Year 11 2012 Chit Chat Thread Nah my school only accelerates in math, but Im actually one of the last people in my school to accelerate 3U as the curriculum head decided not to continue that program anymore (2U acceleration of course is still going).

Year 12 2013 Chit Chat Thread

Re: Year 11 2012 Chit Chat Thread Oh wow thats alot of people heh. But in my school, there is a very low number of people who make it to 4U the 'normal' way, most of the people who do 4U at my school are pretty much 2U and in rare cases 3U accelerants. But I already have a very small 2U class...

Year 12 2013 Chit Chat Thread

Re: Year 11 2012 Chit Chat Thread At my school, usually about 4 or so people, however this year has 9 people doing it, and I think my math cohort is better than last year's one, so Im guessing we will have around 9 people doing it too. I find it weird that some schools have like 2 classes of 4u...

    Maths 2U vs. Maths 3U

Well, 2U is simple in and of its self. And 3U tries to advance the difficulty by introducing more intimidating concepts, some of which are an extension of 2 unit topics, for instance in 2U, you only ever deal with One-Dimensional planes when it comes to motion, in 3U, you deal with 2D planes...

    HSC 2012 MX1 Marathon #2 (archive)

Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) I have finally found a solution to the question carrot posted, well here we go: Take the triangle in Carrot's diagram, within respect to theta: \cos {\theta}=\frac{x}{L} \\ \sin {\theta}=\frac{y}{L} \\ \\ \therefore x=L\cos{\theta} \ \ y=L\sin{\theta} Where y is the...

    mx1 trials

Parametric Representation is very easy, you just need to know knowledge from co-ordinate geometry and a sufficient understanding of the concept of both a parameter and of a locus. I reckon you should go over a bit for probability and do some Projectile Motion and SHM questions. Do the Past HSC...

    2012 CSSA Maths 2U

I find it pathetic to try and cheat in 2U. I mean you could be wasting your time cheating on something else, and you decide to cheat on 2U. I mean, I dont even...

    2012 CSSA Maths 2U

Yeah, and from what I've heard schools buy CSSA because its reliable as well as their 'good' tests. S&G > CSSA tbh

    2012 CSSA Maths 2U

Its asking for an approximation so I put t=1.8 (approximate) Overall that question was indeed very poorly written and the graph was poorly drawn as well.

    CSSA Extension Maths

Ill be a very happy person if the CSSA 3U is about the same difficulty as the CSSA 2U (in respect to its own course). I am aiming for a 70/70 for this one, and will be hoping that it will be of similar difficulty to the past CSSA 3U papers.
