    Best Car Build Thread

There are quite a lot of kickass ones on JDMST and EvoOz... too difficult to pick my favourites! My mate recently bought the 320kW atw R34 GTR off Fly on JDMST... sounds pure sex and has had such an awesome build. Too lazy to post links though.

Worst car on the road today?

Coincidence or causation: Saab is being wound down. As for the keys dangling and hitting your leg... it depends how many keys you have, or if you are a really tall guy in a really small car! I do like those wireless/comfort access keys which stay in your pocket.

Worst car on the road today?

LOL I am talking about an era before the 9-3!

Do you post regularly on car forums?

LOL... OzHonda has had quite a colourful history admittedly with on/off user regs.

Proton S16 for $11,990 driveaway- Good or bad for the market?

I was talking to my gf about the Proton S16 and how it was the cheapest car on the market... she thought the Holden Barina was. So we went to Holden and asked for the driveaway price for the cheapest Barina in manual- $13,990 for this week only, and $16-17k come next week when driveaways are no...

Worst car on the road today?

It's been a while (like 10+ years) since we had the 900i but from memory the handbrake was on top of the keyhole and my Mum had a LOT of keys there... and I think it was a 1993 model? *shrugs* Which is yours?

Worst car on the road today?

They get in the way of the handbrake and you can cut yourself on any loose keys when pulling hard! Oh well I prefer smart/wireless keys nowadays :)

    ae86 vs civic type R

Meh I don't understand the Japanese but modified/tuned cars are difficult to compare... just because it's old, doesn't mean it can't keep up. And no I'm not basing this on Initial D.

Worst car on the road today?

Agreed. But I think on a size/dimensions deal... you'll find that you can get bigger Korean cars for the same buck as Japanese cars (e.g. Cruze, Elantra, Sonata, etc). Bigger isn't always better but just an observation which is bound to bear relevance to many families who don't care about...

Worst car on the road today?

*reads it* Pretty much where I was upto in my knowledge of what's happening with Saab... so there's still no conclusion? ps. My Mum used to have an old 900i... I still remember the stupid keys in the centre console. WTF? Why? Apart from this it was a good car for it's generation.

    Official Pokemon game thread

Sadly I was one of the kids who.. even older than this.. I was at the Pokemon convention to download MEW to my Pokemon Blue game. I remember getting my best friend at the time (we were in year 6?) to come with me to Macquariearty! Centre... and you would queue up and then put your gameboy...

Worst car on the road today?

Didn't they say it was being wound down and then another opportunity arose? *shrugs* I stopped caring a while ago though TBH.

Worst car on the road today?

The newer Korean cars are a marked improvement on the old ones though... I don't think anyone would argue that Hyundai and Kia have not significantly improved since the Excel days. They now have great build quality and reliability... but lack the driving finesse or good design which the rivals...

    UNSW Subject Reviews.

I want to add to this but I feel that I am probably too late and too slow... and byt he time its useful to someone the course would have changed. Here are my two recent GENEDS (s2, 2009) GENS4010 Science and Religion - interesting content but a bit biased in favour of Christians (not much info...

Worst car on the road today?

I'm not sure as I am no expert in interpretting videos of crash testing but it looked like the occupants got pretty smashed from memory (not opening it again on my uber slow netbook!). And I still think the Yaris which has performed well in testing reports is at least some indicator that it...

Worst car on the road today?

Wow that is an interesting video. I am surprised because both are considered to be high performers at least in the Australian NCAP testing. IIRC both are 5 star performers in terms of occupant protection. The only thing I can think of is that the NCAP testing is flawed because it simulates a...

    Test drive/ride experiences

LOL I think it's good to have reviews of P-plate friendly cars which are suitable for the majority of readers here. It's all great having car magazines review performance cars and test out the great handling and performance attributes but there is a gap in the amount of reviews aimed at the...

    2010 New Year's Resolution Thread

My goal is to simply be more efficient in life. Efficient includes and encompasses everything- eat less and better foods (I believe the saying goes to eat 80% full), spend less, drive more efficiently, don't waste money on pointless crap (e.g. magazines, car washes), walk more rather than...
