    finding inexpensive driving instructors

Try asking your mates from school who live in the area. That's how I found mine and I think it's quite effective when you are looking for decent and inexpensive. ps. Posting your suburb/area might help other posters here on BoS with recommendations.

    Cadetship vs BCom/BEng

In all honesty it is a bit full on at first but you get used to it- it's more the staying awake and basic time management which is a challenge. The other people you work with will all be understanding of your situation and commitments so don't worry too much about it. You'll still have your...

    Cadetship vs BCom/BEng

My post should've read something more along the lines of BS but then I realised this thread could be covering business cadetships which I don't know much about. But from an accounting perspective, cadets unfortunately don't get some boring lowly accounting job (at least not where I work). It's...

    Cadetship vs BCom/BEng

That statement is not always true. Depends on the cadetship really.

    Fins1612 finacial market and inst.

1612 is like an HSC subject- it's extremely straightforward, your weekly homework is comprehension based, and the final is just based on your ability to remember lecture slides. Reading the book is not required. 1613 was a pain purely because the final was considerably harder than everything...

    red P off during parking?

What if someone snips the cable tie?

    red P off during parking?

Depends on the car I suppose. For me, that's how I lost my front magnetic P plate, and hence only have one left on my bootlid. I ended up installing the P plate holder when those rules came in regarding having P plates outside the vehicle opposed to the stick-on-the-windscreen type.

Finance + Economics good to major in ? vs. Fi + Acc

May be an obvious question but did you enjoy your core economic subjects in uni?

    Questions/Uncertainty Reagrding Undergraduate Economics Courses

I used to be very against the idea of geneds until I started to appreciate the whole... taking a break outside of normal Commerce, and seeing what else there is. At first I thought doing the bludgey online subjects would give me no value whatsoever (I did the work and safety, and environmental...

    Accounting cadetships 2010

There's plenty of threads about it- I think there is even one above *points to top of list of threads which are stickied*, or failing that, use the Search function. Most things have not changed since previous years except there may be a different number of places on offer, and the conditions of...

Accounting - probationary contract & pay

I thought probation was just a period which the contract can be terminated at any time without any penalties for either party? Didn't realise it included a pay rise or a new contract.

    Forensic Accounting- Work Experience

I just feel forensic accounting is an area where you have to really be good at accounting and know how to reconstruct missing pieces- something which you need to do in audit but obviously not to the same degree. That being said if you have your heart set on it, go for it. I just think that it...

    Forensic Accounting- Work Experience

Try to get your hands on the ICAA cadetship book when it is available as from memory there are some insolvency/forensic firms around which might offer cadetships (not sure about this though so don't quote me on it). That being said, are you sure you wanna do forensic accounting? If you are...

    Cadetship VS Co-op

Its never too late- and be creative in where you get involved. Its quality not quantity so if you start doing charity work such as door knock appeal or helping out with a club or society either within your school or in your community, it doesn't hurt.

    Commerce at UNSW

The point I am making is that doing well in those subjects in HSC does not necessarily improve your ability to do well in university. IMO having done Eco in HSC and doing reasonably well, it acted as a hindrance because after the first few weeks of Macro and Micro, you presume that you are going...

    No friends at work?

I'm mates with the people I work with- it makes things alot smoother and easier when you need to get things done. The simple test is whether you would wanna spend Friday night with 'em or not. *shrugs* I suppose each company is different and it also depends on the age range as well.

    Commerce at UNSW

Maybe the focus isn't necessarily on what's relevant but a desired shift in the demographics? Come to think of it, plenty of people who do Commerce now did no Commerce type or related subjects in high school. That being said, is Maths, Biz Studies and Eco really that relevant to a Commerce...
