Who came first in their ipt class :D

Just don't get too complacent/lazy guys! Being top of your school won't guarantee you a good result in HSC.

    Vacation Work

I was under the impression that he/she meant studying for midsems as opposed to the actual midsem exam itself since it's like 5:30pm-8:00pm right? Anyhow, it's not like it's a study or get 0 affair is it? As for the 50% for consolidations... then that's fair enough. I guess I'm still used to...

    Vacation Work

I'm inclined to think that if one puts too much importance/priority on midsems over getting the job- esp when midsems aren't really worth that much (at least at UNSW they aren't)...

As in, you got a call requesting an interview/attendance at info session or a call with an offer for placement?

    Cadetships!

From what I hear it's a good firm :) My friend in MS (city) really likes it. As for who I know in the firm, I don't know many people from MSSW. I talked to Stewart and Nicole quite a bit (feel free to ask them if they remember who the talkative, "ask-alot-of-questions" Asian guy who ended up...

    Tutoring

LOL just remember- we were all year12 students at one point in our lives... ... except maybe those who didn't do HSC.

    IPT Resources

I'd highly recommend it- I even emailed the authors to tell them I commended them on their excellent answers which inspired me to do a good job in my own paper. IMO, if you use it, it'll definitely help give you an idea of the calibre of answer you need to write in order to get top marks...

    Thought on independent trail 2006

LOL all you gangsters! jkjk. But on topic, the Independent Trials tend to be considerably harder than the real HSC- but at least it helps you prepare for the worst and it ensures you know your stuff. Study off these (by doing them) and you'll be very well prepared.

    Start/Stop bit?

The one thing I've always wondered is... why couldn't they standardize the parity bit as even OR odd? Why give the choice?! Warning to students doing HSC: Make sure you understand how these bits work because you could potentially be asked to deconstruct an incorrect transmission!

Does anybody actually studying ipt know much about computers

I still stand by my, whilst knowing the theory is good, if you can drop a few words of practicality into your HSC responses (eg. when talking about databases, give an example of a program they could use, or an SQL query which would help the scenario), then you'll get a better mark. I'm curious...

    2 quick questions!

    B. It's a digital representation of analogue sound. It's not A, because a wave file could have a single wave (ie. monoaural). It's not D because that would be a midi file. I'm guessing C is a bit ambiguous, but I think it's incorrect because that description fits a midi file better- ie. how to...

    Umdit

Please elaborate? If possible pls include a question... for me, I've always just applied UMDIT to the scenario question and used the letters of UMDIT as subheadings. As for feasibility report, I think being able to name what it is and what it's for is worth a little, but where the marks probably...

    Please Help Me..

Spreadsheets are famous for their "what-if" approach whereby changing one variable will have instant flow on effects which make decision making for the user alot easier. Databases are good for storing large amounts of data, and with search/query/reports, the user can find the exact answer...

    1 lil' question~

They ask that sortof Q in the multiple choice I believe. For us, our teacher made us learn it.. although, it isn't really that hard since it's the same as what we learnt back in year8 mathematics. I'm too tired to do that Q- but it looks very familiar. Looks like something out of the...

    2006 IPT trial exams..ur thoughts

That's a good sign IMO. If you can crap on/write alot... then it means you've probably gone above and beyond the minimum standards!
