    Physics Predictions/Thoughts

I let theta be the angle between the string and the normal, and then saud tan(theta)=(gravity force)/(centripetal force). This was assuming the car was turning. I then reaarranged to find v, but im not sure if its right. I have to try it out

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

Lol. I also got 69 with q10 wrong (misread it horribly even though i checked it like 5 times). I think 100 raw definitely AND a great 4u mark are necessary for state rank

queries about physics NESA additional sample questions

Actually, i get it now i think. The voltemeter's positive and negative terminals are such that they indicate the direction of current going through voltemeter rathwr than around the curcuit

queries about physics NESA additional sample questions

So the way a voltemeter's terminals works is such that they are arrnaged oppositely to a cell/battery? I ask this because for a cell, 'negative current' ia from negative to positive, and 'postive' current is from positive to negative, but you suggest that for a voltemeter current going from the...

queries about physics NESA additional sample questions

In this question, I get the correct graph, except it is the negative of what the answers say (answers say initially voltage is, negative but I keep getting positive). I have a feeling it has something to deal with conventional vs actual current. Does anyone know why? The reason I say induced...

Now that you have seen the exam, what do you think the b6 cutoff will be?

HSC Chemistry Exam Solutions / Thoughts

This has been discussed before, but in your opinion would the substitution of water with chloroethane (using sulfuric acid catalyst) to produce ethanol be suitable as an answer for question 34, step 1?

Thanks so much for spending your night trying to post up the answers to each question as soon as possible. Really appreciate it.

In the diagram, the flame was very far away from the beaker, I didn't say to put it right on the beaker, just closer

HSC Chemistry Exam Solutions / Thoughts

For 23 b, could you say to make the flame closer to the beaker to minimise heat loss? I feel like I've also seen it in a past paper, but that's what I wrote Edit: I now realise you included this, but I didn't explicity mention HOW you would make the flame closer. I just said to move it closer to...

HSC Chemistry Exam Solutions / Thoughts

For 21c, I wrote about the permanganate test, but I didn't talk about confirming it using sodium carbonate. Do we actually need the sodium carbonate test aswell?

HSC Chemistry Exam Solutions / Thoughts

Fair enough. I thought they were implying you're supposed to because it says to mention the reagents.

HSC Chemistry Exam Solutions / Thoughts

You or someone else previously mentioned that they 'forgot' to talk about how esterification produces water when it was mentioned that reagents need to be stated. So, do we actually need to state what was produced as a byproduct?
  16. Idkwhattoput

HSC Chemistry Exam Solutions / Thoughts

Yeah. Surprising it hasn't been leaked early yet
  17. Idkwhattoput

HSC Chemistry Exam Solutions / Thoughts

I'm as surprised as you. I always thought reagents was synonymous with reactants. Also, for that last question (chloroethane to ethanol), is water and sulfuric acid catalyst correct?? I wrote that but I assumed it was wrong because I can't seem to find them anywhere???

HSC Chemistry Exam Solutions / Thoughts

I remember specifically adjusting my answer to clearly outline each compound as it said something like 'identify the reagents in each reaction'.

How many marks worth of questions did you not know how to answer, and how many marks worth of silly mistakes do you think you guys made?
