Because a thirteen year old kid cannot fully understand the possible consequences of her actions, is below the legal age of consent and is not fully sexually developed.

A thirty year old woman understands the possible consequences of her actions, is at the legal age of consent and is sexually developed. She is also old enough to make a fully informed decision about who she has sex with and knows how to deal with that.

The difference is explained by lockedbox as both the 17 and 13 year old are under the age of 18 so they technically by law, they are not fully aware of their actions. The 50 and 30yo are adults and of course they are aware of their actions. Thats why paedophilia is commonly seen as old men preying on children as they do not know the consequences.

age gap sort of becomes irrelevant in that situation and just becomes a different type of phillia, that just so happens is accepted by society

Why don't we look at the definition of 'Pedophilia'?

"sexual desire in an adult for a child."

Thirteen year old is not an adult/late teen therefore is not a pedophile.

30 year old woman is not a prepubescent child. The man could be 100 and the female 18 and it's not pedophilia (or 16 in some countries)
