short answer is waffle they want to give you the marks as long as you get the quote + technique + analysis
for 3-4 yeah but that wont get u full marks in a 5 marker, with each new quote you need to provide a new insight and vary what youre saying or else they wont reward you necessarily if you repeat the same stuff. the criteria differs for higher marks. the marking criteria is pretty vague but the main difference is "skilfully' v 'effectively' and 'detailed analysis and 'well chosen'

if you guys are worried abt short answers go watch jeddle's videos, they explain them really well - especially the 6 marker comparatives (which we havent had in the hsc in a bit)

this is a really great section to maximise your mark in the paper only through a little prior prep!!! also, if you got trials feedback for short answers go back and see where you actually went wrong

Oh, for you, I would've done whatever (uh-huh)
And I just can't believe we ain't together (yo, uh-huh)
And I wanna play it cool (yo), but I'm losin' you (uh-huh)
I'll buy you anything (yo), I'll buy you any ring (uh-huh)
And I'm in pieces (yo), baby, fix me (uh-huh)
And just shake me 'til you wake me from this bad dream (yo, uh-huh)
I'm goin' down (oh), down, down, down (uh-huh)
And I just can't believe, my first love won't be around, and I'm like
"Baby, baby, baby, oh"
Like, "Baby, baby, baby, no"
Like, "Baby, baby, baby, oh"
I thought you'd always be mine, mine
"Baby, baby, baby, oh"
Like, "Baby, baby, baby, no"
Like, "Baby, baby, baby, oh"
I thought you'd always be mine, mine
we're witnessing bro's crashout

honestly, for comp. I feel like the best prep is a good night's rest beforehand. Helps you think more clearly during the exam

My teachers gave us a full list but i can't remember it all. distincitve ones was like:

1. Taking a test
2. War
3. Dementia / Alzhimers

god there was like 15 things they gave us but i cant find the doc anywhere
bro my prescribed text is on war, and my discursive is on intergenerational conflicts
but yeah taking a test is too meta i think staying away from like school or assessments is probs a good idea

unlikely because they did it already 3 years ago
but if they do i have some broad ideas to create a new one
or if it fits i can adapt my discursive

nice. my english teacher who used to work for nesa said that when they created the new english syllabus, they wanted to remove all predictability. so they arent working off patterns (i.e. this came up last year, it wont be there this year, or it hasnt been there in ages, its def coming up etc). Praying that means no poem prescription, AND we can choose a discursive. those are my 2 biggest worries rn

i guess so
i heard that a head maths nesa teacher said that the entirety of the syllabus should be covered within the lifespan of the syllabus
since the new english syllabus is going to be implemented in 2026, maybe they will ask a persuasive or discursive
idk if this translates to english but speculating rather than studying is fun lol

yeah i honestly hope so. I think we'd be best suited for a persuasive as well, since usually (or at least my discursive) has the omnisience etc. I'd like a persuasive, because it would put everyone on a leve playing field.

20 mark discursive would fucking SLAP.

only problem is that a discursive would fuck over my entire cohort, so no one will be able to bring my mark up

hahaha true
honestly persuasive is pretty easy to adapt from a discursive since you just swap the modality and register, otherwise it stays the same
but if they give us an informative 💀
9/11 pt 2 is incoming
