does anyone have any advice as to how to study form other people’s notes? For prelims I downloaded a bunch of resources but nothing really transferred into my brain…

I suggest using other people's notes to make ur own summaries and put it in ur own words. Also borrow stuff from textbooks, etc so that u can make them ur own. I feel like that will help u remember things better

I remember reading that rereading notes is largely inefficient and that it does a very good job on tricking your brain into thinking that you are productive. Your best bet imo is to use these study notes and turn it into flashcards and quiz yourself using past papers and textbook in spaced sessions.

use those notes to write model essays or make your own notes!! making your own notes really helps as you are forced to process the information and make it into something that you can understand. what I also like to do is make flashcards based on said notes and force myself to condense a certain amount of a topic onto one card, to maximise efficiency and see how much I can prune the info down, but this only really works if you’re the kind of person who remembers random things. if you don’t want to make your own notes, idk what subjects you do but doing practice questions using those notes might help you familiarise yourself with their structure and what they mean. ultimately though I would recommend collating them into ur own master set, only writing down the things you understand - this is what I did for SOR and it worked for me :3

help I actually did decent on sac with a 75% despite not studying. idk now whether it is the right decision to drop
Well in that case forget grades and think more about other factors like time, capability, etc. Grades can come in later, rn focus on stuff lke how much time will you have to dedicate to each subject, how much will it strain you, etc.

How can i be motivated and move on- if there is no will to move on? if there is no motivation to even get up, and move. If no friend supports, and no one stays long enough to even try to understand. Call me out for being cringe but like fml this sucks. HSC is coming up and i can't even sort my mental health out. I can't literally do this, i wanna do well and i've always done well, but year 11's f'd me over, and there is nothing for me. I cannot do this. I do not wish to anymore.

you may feel like nobody is supporting you, but in reality, a lot of people are! i definitely support you!
year 11 may have felt discouraging but your performance in the past doesn't need to define the next year
don't beat yourself up for feeling unmotivated, it's not something that can be forced. take as much time as you need to take care of your mental health, that's far more important than the HSC (which is also very very far away so don't worry!)
you've got this!!! there's a lot out there waiting for you, and you're certainly not alone ☺
