I think there supposed to be like a semicircle/ hyperbola thing. Maybe try graphing it on Desmos so u have a rough idea on how it’s supposed to look. I think maybe finding the vertex and intercepts of the equation in the denominator can help u find the domain and rangeView attachment 47381

Denominator has to be positive (inside the squareroot, not the result of the square root) and not 0 so make an inequalityView attachment 47381

Yeah that’s right and then u make the equation greater and equal to 0 I think . Idk if that right but then u just solve for x with the inequality signDenominator has to be positive and not 0 so make an unequality
Factorise from there
Smthing along the lines of that

looks like cambridge btwWhat textbook did u get it from
enrichment of 3B in the ext1 textlooks like cambridge btw
no just greater than, 1/0 isn't validYeah that’s right and then u make the equation greater and equal to 0 I think . Idk if that right but then u just solve for x with the inequality sign
are you a walking cambridgeenrichment of 3B in the ext1 text
So I’ll never be asked this in an adv exam right?enrichment of 3B in the ext1 text

Plz Get outbc you'd make a good bridging course
well it's adv content so theoretically u could be asked itSo I’ll never be asked this in an adv exam right?
I just realised the question had ‘likewise’ that means u just need to copy ur working out for a (so not much brain power)Domain:
Factorise the denominator then solve (root(whatever u got when factorised) > 0)
range:
u need to sketch it or use desmos/geogebra
bro i was gonna do it first1. if u solve the quadratic and identify its concavity u can find the x values where it is negative e.g. if it has x intercepts at x = -2 and 2, and is concave up the quadratic is negative between x = -2 and 2. since u cant square root a negative and cant divide by 0, that gives u the domain (x < -2, x > 2)
2. find the range of the quadratic by finding the y coord of the vertex. e.g. vertex at (1, 3) and concave down = range: y ≤ 3
3. square root that (keeping in mind u can't square root a negative)-> 0 ≤ y ≤ sqrt3
4. find the reciprocal of that (a graph of y = 1/x could be useful) -> y ≥ 1/sqrt3
Ok. I’ll prob practice smth like this towards prelim or next yearwell it's adv content so theoretically u could be asked it
however it's very challenging and it's in the enrichment section, so something like this would only be asked if the examiners are feeling nastyand would likely be split into many parts and be worth a lot of marks
but that topic falls into the adv section so it's possible (ie not a ext1 topic)So I’ll never be asked this in an adv exam right?
too slow hahabro i was gonna do it first
cheater
These were the types of questions we did in class bc ‘they’re too easy’So I’ll never be asked this in an adv exam right?
