The Australian said:
The University of Western Sydney and James Cook University will receive $25 million and $26million respectively... In keeping with funding promises made last year, UWS, which has been plagued by financial turmoil, will receive the $25million over three years...Next year, $7 million will be spent on the development of a medical training facility at its Campbelltown campus to complement the university's new medical school. A new building for teaching at the Parramatta campus will be built for $9million; $7 million will go towards a new library at the Penrith campus and $2 million will be spent on upgrading facilities at the Hawkesbury campus, which specialises in agriculture education.
I only posted uws info

thansk for the info theone123, didnt knwo that.
about bankstown...errrrr inter-campus politics...maybe the new med school took the funding away. oh yeah..i forget that uws has only 1 assoc now, well i dunno, maybe its not a priority mate.

meh - notice that we only get funding after they boost hecs and international students..

they've only increased funding coz they're gonna get more outa the uni

i hate the liberal party, especially costello coz its easiest to blame him for the budget - yay lets give the rich more money and fuck middle class and the disadvantaged even further..

im sure than extra $80 a year will seem so fab compared to the extra $4500 the top bracket's get to keep....

just because the tax has changed people totally ignore that they're screwin us over in other things..

bit like uni - they give us more so people will forget about the fact that the cost to us (2005 onwards ppl) has gone up heaps:(

Hawkesbury needs a new library??? Last time I went it was pretty good. Better than parra and blacktown :p

I vote I'll have the $25 million instead of UWS :D hehe.

IMO the Ward libaray at Penrith (Humanities) is big enough. Anymore bigger and I REFUSE to go in. It's pretty confusing as it is. I still haven't actually searched for a book. I reserve it and then just simply pick it up at the library :) I'm so lazy.

why the fuck cant bankstown get a bar???

This is not a government issue. The bar is an issue of licensing, a license will not be renewed. UWSConnect is looking into it.

nope, allen is alrite, two levels, mostly engineering/comp and maths science books. ward is more arts, business, etc, all libraries specialise in something, parra has alot of law so does c'town but has business as well. allen is new as well, prob. built maybe ten yrs ago? still going alrtie.
if its on werro north, they can get f'ked....

i think IMO having a new library at penrith is pointless, they already hav two which is enuf i think, they shud spend the 7 mill on other things...

U'd think they'd spend the 25 million on something like making tutorial classes smaller, or paying off some debt...
It truely perplexes me.

Is this the government giving uws money and telling them they HAVE to spend it on a new library?
