cool, good idea.

im way to lazy to watch my diet, but i made a thread in the food section about calories, and i have been watching my eating lately, but thats probably the most i'd do, lol.

i do the opposite (endurance training?)

eg 30 reps of about 70% of my bodyweight dumbell press - then superset 4 pullups.

i'm not looking to get big, just fit and decent strength

respect to those who can bench/squat/deadlift a lot though.

i went up from 15kg to 17.5kg (each hand) with dumbell chest press.

im quite happy with myself about that. infact i increased every weight by a bit this week.

woo for progess!

Hit 80kgz on bench today. Am proud. :santa:
that's a pretty good effort i can only do like 50 and then by the third set i am absolute wiped.

I can do 10 reps on the leg press @ 210kg though.

:) Great success. I ditched dumbells after the first week. I went too hard out and dropped a 15kg d/bell on my shoulder. Never touched them again.

wouldn't dumbbells be better for building muscle evenly??

barbell is best.
explain plz
by using a barbell, or some sort of machine that involves using both arms at the same time, you might get a tendency to exert more force using your stronger arm.

i did this with the bicep machine at a gym, and as a result my right bicep is bigger than my left.

by using separate weights in each hand, you know that each arm will be lifting exactly 17.5kg or watever, so you get an even workout.
