I actually think that understatement of deaths more than offsets any supposed overstatement, particularly if you look at the excess deaths count compared to a normal year (for highly covid infected countries that is).ye but we have to learn to live with it. people have to die to stop this virus, a simple fact that not many people want to accept. plus that 5.3m stat is rubbish, in the US and Australia the govt was paying hospitals to record any death in the wards as a corona death. i know this first-hand. itd be naive to think that stat inflation wouldn't occur.
also, this time right now is the best time to spread herd natural antibody immunity because of omicron. this strain is actually a blessing. according to worldometer, out of the active cases in Australia, only 0.1% are critical, despite the death rate being 0.9%. thats in an omicron dominant sample, which indicates its less lethal. thats why im happy with what perrotet is doing, while mark mcgowen is a lunatic over 1 case.
woah epic political take my dudeDomicron
I think physical distancing, masks, hand & personal hygiene are very important and large crowded events should be avoided, but I was dismayed when they restricted apartment dwellers in ‘LGAs of concern’ to one hour outdoors per day (we live in a semi rural area so it didn’t apply to us) because severe COVID is an aberrant inflammatory response and the baseline cardiometabolic status (ie. obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular risk) is one of the major determining factors for disease severity & likelihood of hospitalisation in an individual infected with SARS-COV-2 (https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/JAHA.120.019259) so people were cooped up and sedentary indoors, eating & gaining weight, instead of exercising outdoors to improve their resilience to the virus. As variants of the SARS-COV-2 virus are likely to be circulating for a long time, I hope any future ‘lockdowns’ involve only closures of indoor places and restriction of large events, but not of the populations’ access to open spaces for exercise.I’m pro dom simply bcz he doesn’t do lockdowns, not like it matters since I’m in iso rn but lockdowns are the worst. the personal responsibility agenda is lazy on the govts part but it makes sense and is better than a shut down society where things go back to square one once things open up.
yeah I remember the one hr outdoors rule in my area it was so overboard, I couldn't even enjoy the hour bcz of privacy-invading cops, anyways I also hope future lockdowns aren't torturous for anyone lga or not since we have to live with the virus there's no point grounding people for months at a time, masks social distancing checkins preventing large social gatherings among other things should help reduce the spread not lockdowns plsI think physical distancing, masks, hand & personal hygiene are very important and large crowded events should be avoided, but I was dismayed when they restricted apartment dwellers in ‘LGAs of concern’ to one hour outdoors per day (we live in a semi rural area so it didn’t apply to us) because severe COVID is an aberrant inflammatory response and the baseline cardiometabolic status (ie. obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular risk) is one of the major determining factors for disease severity & likelihood of hospitalisation in an individual infected with SARS-COV-2 (https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/JAHA.120.019259) so people were cooped up and sedentary indoors, eating & gaining weight, instead of exercising outdoors to improve their resilience to the virus. What's worse is how Randwick and City of Sydney at that time had more cases then Blacktown and even less vaccination rates but weren't concerned LGAs.yeah I remember the one hr outdoors rule in my area it was so overboard, I couldn't even enjoy the hour bcz of privacy-invading cops, anyways I also hope future lockdowns aren't torturous for anyone lga or not since we have to live with the virus there's no point grounding people for months at a time, masks social distancing checkins preventing large social gatherings among other things should help reduce the spread not lockdowns pls

Yep and there was lots of news stories about people in those areas crowding on beaches and meeting up, while Western Sydney was so heavily restricted in comparison where you couldn't even go outside 5km of your houseWhat's worse is how Randwick and City of Sydney at that time had more cases then Blacktown and even less vaccination rates but weren't concerned LGAs.
That was triggering af.
yeah omg I remember the crowding on beaches double standards asf, the policing here was like US military style lmao ppl getting fined for anything, I got my first job during lockdown and lost it bcz of the 5km rule forever sad abt this, complete nonsense it's all or nothing how does shutting down some areas and letting others go wild do anything, this is all in the past though hopefully in future the same lunacy doesn't happenYep and there was lots of news stories about people in those areas crowding on beaches and meeting up, while Western Sydney was so heavily restricted in comparison where you couldn't even go outside 5km of your house
Yeah same got screwed by it too since I had my honours research year and I lost 4 months of my lab time because I couldn't go to the uni. It was really annoying when people were allowed to go beaches and stuff while I couldn't just go to get an education and complete my thesis properlyyeah omg I remember the crowding on beaches double standards asf, the policing here was like US military style lmao ppl getting fined for anything, I got my first job during lockdown and lost it bcz of the 5km rule forever sad abt this, complete nonsense it's all or nothing how does shutting down some areas and letting others go wild do anything, this is all in the past though hopefully in future the same lunacy doesn't happen
the advice is go churchAnyone know if the advice is work from home if you can?
mate why are you always on your periodthe advice is go church
it's facts bro, get educatedmate why are you always on your period
Yes, from the email broadcasts that I’ve been getting, that seems to be the general advice again.Anyone know if the advice is work from home if you can?
Try go outside for exercise like walking, jogging or ride a bike if you have one by yourself. There is not much risk to get infected if you are outside and keeping away from a crowd doing that. Although it isn't a socialising based activity with others, it will help to clear your mind and get some health benefits from doing some cardio.sorta confused on what to do because im immunocompromised and my mom is unvaxxed but im really depressed from staying home all day , im not kidding i havent socialised with anyone in 3 weeks. tbh its more of my mom im worried about but at this point all those dumb conspiracy theories made her scared of the vax :/
