what i meant was, this --> you have like 7 sick druken dudes, and one completly drunken girl, it was obviuos that the guys would attack her becuase she's drunk and weak, and they're like a group of 7 guys. Its not like the girl invited them to rape her, they were the idiots that took advantage of her in that state.

As for the camera, i know that its bad for them to use it. BUT, If they didnt take the video, the girl would have no clue on what happend to her, because she didnt know that she got raped only after she saw the video. When the guys dumped her infront of her house, she told her mum that she doesnt remember the previous nights events. So, the guys would now get punished for their crime, and its all thanks to the camera. Eventhough it is a shame that this video was spread around in this way...

i dont really think its that obvious, and i dont think their actions are excused. all you need is one of the people there to be a decent person and stop it. Me and all of my mates would never stand for it, even if i was the only one saying it was a bad idea, that alone would have diffused the situation. If one person says they will dob them in if they go through with it, well then the only way they could still rape her and get away with it is if they killed him.

Sure she made some bad decisions, but thats life. You cant say that her bad decisions are what led to this, its on the gang rapists and no one else. If a bad thing happened to everyone every time you made a bad choice, well no one would be saying you deserved it. Something also makes me think they drugged her, 4 drinks does not make you forget the night no matter how fast you slam them down.

I am curious as to how the blame is going to be laid down here. Obviously the dude who penetrated her is going to cop alot of shit, but the guy who just filmed her and didnt actually do anything directly might get alot lighter sentence. What about the other dudes who were at the party but maybe not involved, i.e in the other room minding their own business. What happens to them? slap on the wrist?

The guy who filmed it is maybe only peripheral to the actual rapist, and if there were the others holding her down, well they will probably cop it worse than the camerman. Should be an interesting case, almost as interesting as the kings of werribee sex video one.
Also it might lay down some precedents on refused classification porn. As it stands now iam pretty sure that teacher could be charged with child pornography laws if the police wanted too[ofcourse they wont though cause he helped them, just saying]

A sex act on her face would be considered indecent assault.

You'd have to see the case law on how the court has interpreted such provisions. Reading them yourself provides some insight, but you really need to go to cases also.

While i condemn and disagree with anything to do with rape, I pose a serious question here.

There will always be filthy and dirty people in the world, and no one can change that....but in amongst these kinds of stories, where are the victim's parents? Do they only care AFTER the rape has been committed?

Wasn't the skaf rape at like 2am in the morning in a park? I mean, what is a normal girl doing there at that time.....and same with this case, they are all so drunk and parying hard...don't their parents worry at all?


This is not to minimise the seriousness of these crimes or look for alternative reasons for blame, just a question which I think needs answering.

Tougher penalties for people who take advantage of such situations, parents to go out with their children , what could reduce such things recurring, police officers to visit schools - give talks and what to do in situations like that

i.e. in primary school the copa's came and gave a talk about walking home safely what to do if theres a stalker etc. cause some naked guy chased children down a road the week before

so whats the solution :s, guys to have pants that stay on untill they get home - are padlocks the real answer , or for guys to understand what the physcological effects can be on the girl for the rest of her life (she won't just get over it, it wasnt a bit of fun)

She is a teenage girl. Lots of girls, responsible or not, sneak out at night to go do stuff and a lot of things from their parents. The parents probably freaked, not knowing about the rape and grounded her or something of the ilk.

That's the simple answer.

I feel so completely sorry for this poor girl. Just because she doesn't remember right now doesn't mean that will be forever. I imagine she's going to develop PTSD or at least have a number of issues in the future. Her flashbacks will probably be even worse due to the fact that she won't be able to tell what's real and what she's imagining.

Rape is so damn hard to prove and even though she is lucky enough to have the video she's still a teenage girl who the defense is going to love to put on trial as well. It's going to be hell for her.
