JUST TO GET THIS STRAIGHT... Yes, I did say the chick was "slutty" but it still gives no reason for the guys to have raped her, and in the process to have taken a video of it (IMBECILES) I said that in one of my posts, and I also said the act cannot be justified... which it never will be.

You sad person, go get a life. Look at what we're talking about and look at what you're talking about. You're pathetic. I don't think the video could cover the fact that the guys were anglo honey. You can't just arrest someone based on a low probability. I mean what kind of an idiotic policeman would want to frame "whites" to cover up for muslims anyway? You sound like you came from the 19th Century btw.

they censored their faces on television news as they were being escorted away by police, but judging by the family members that were accompanying them (as their faces were not censored), I'd bet a dollar against 5c that they were middle-eastern.

Oh, and add to that the attitude of the granddad, pretty much clinches it. What a GWB-wannabe...

-P_D

yeah...so would i.
esp south western sydney, large population of middle eastern people in that area...

I feel so completely sorry for this poor girl. Just because she doesn't remember right now doesn't mean that will be forever. I imagine she's going to develop PTSD or at least have a number of issues in the future. Her flashbacks will probably be even worse due to the fact that she won't be able to tell what's real and what she's imagining.

Rape is so damn hard to prove and even though she is lucky enough to have the video she's still a teenage girl who the defense is going to love to put on trial as well. It's going to be hell for her.
Wow, I never thought of it like that. Very good point. *Gives you a pat on the shoulder for looking towards the future* Now I feel sad for her. Poor thing... Hope she comes out of it allright!!!

lol *hopeful* --- I totally agree with you... anything I read about the scenario was from Thursdays paper... and then nothing... IF anyone finds something can you please post it up.

UM BTW P_Dilemma and niccchole you guys are idiots. Did you even read the paper? LOL... Still going on about if they're Middle-Eastern... LOL... that was already clarified, please read the article again.

She's not going to come out of it alright, people who are gang raped, God even raped have serious trauma for years to come.

It's funny how everyone likes to forget the victim in these circumstances and just concentrate on the rapists. Sympathy rarely ever comes.

agreed.
Esp because i believe a significant portion of the [and i wont specify which community..] community of the perpetrators will have the 'she asked for it' mentality...there will be alot of outspoken opposition [ie, and the grandfathers yelling spell is just the beginning of it..]

Even the judicial system are very cynical when it comes to things like that.. [ie, that arguement when the TARA girl was raped in italy.. that she was wearing a short skirt:mad1: .]

the old school, judges with their GPS mentalities wont be too kind i dont believe... but i believe they'd favour her over the [middle eastern??] perpetrators..?
''

i'm coming across as very bias etc. but its a sad fact that the worlds alot like that...

The "asked for it" mentality would be hard to hold up in court because if she was incapable or did not consent, then you've got rape right? Yeah in a perfect world.

They still love to put the victim on trial, make her out to be a slut and then hope that some chauvinistic judge will agree with them.

It doesn't matter who the perpetrators are in terms of race, what matters is what happened.

They'd have to know the judge. While I'm sure there's some judges that such an argument could be made to, another would probably berate you for even bringing up such an argument and spite you for the rest of your case because of it.

The sad thing is that if they weren't such fuck-ups for filming it, they would've gotten away with it.

Happens too much.
Agreed. I have this sneaking suspicion that these sort of attacks and sexual abuse in general probably happens much more than it is reported, merely due to the embarassment of reporting/the sort of threats which are probably sometimes made etc.

In reference to NTB:

Oh of course they do.

That's why it's a good idea to hand out tougher sentences when it is able to be prosecuted. That might make the mentality change a little. Probably not a lot but it would be nice to have a few more victims rights.

nichhhole:

It might be. I personally see it as an act of naivety. Being rebellious and getting yourself into the wrong situation.

I've been busy lately and didn't hear about the possible "20 year" sentence. Given what they did, if they do end up in prison, their 18th birthday transfer to an adult prison will attract some nasty individuals. Apparently, inmates don't take gang-rapes lightly.

What a stupid thing to do.

Anyone caught forwarding video footage of the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl in Sydney's south-west faces up to three years in prison...

Erm dude...she didn't go to the police... the teachers found out about the video than approached the officials... how many times do I have to say this? READ THE ARTICLE PAGE ONE PLEASEEEEE

S-Aint ...Whoa:eek: ... sounds scary... and they're pretty young too... I think the trial is going to take some time anyway. But there's too much evidence surrounding the event, there's no way they can plead *Not guilty*--- It'll just make things worse for them.

And the "three years in prison" comment!!! WHOA!!!

If you forwarded the 'rape' video without knowing it was a rape video you don't have the guilty mind :p
yes.. but like someone said.. how can you forward it without knowing what it is?
so thus how could anyone not have a guilty mind about it...
