Amber says good morning, and apologises for last night's absence as her computer is currently being upgraded and has no connection to the internet. Waaaah! So she has come into school (on her first day of freedom!) to use the net and see what everyone talked about last night. Can't you just feel the love guys? Amber was having net withdrawals :D

Amber thinks that Lynns post about the butt was funny. Amber has always had a butt and does not find it amusing in the least. However, she notes that members of the opposite sex always seem to admire it

Amber is laughing over Alan's attempt at nailpolish. Amber has very long slim fingers and fingernails, always has, and often gets stopped in the street by passers-by who think they are fake and ask Amber where she got them done. However they are not fake and Amber is quite proud of this fact :) unfortunately Amber has to compensate by having long toes, and therefore big feet :(

Amber cannot often wear nailpolish (however she has accumulated 65 bottles, still good bottles of it over her lifetime) as she has to work and there is a strict non-fingernail polish rule at McDonalds. There are also strict non-liasons-between-crew-and-managers rules however these seem to be disregarded alot....which scares Amber.... hmmmm

Feel the LUUUUUURVE! :D

Justin senses some irony in the fact that Amber is spending her days of freedom at school.

Justin has just mowed the front lawn and is about to do the back. He will be back within the hour.

Alan has found out that he did not sign out of BOS at the state Library, and that some girl babydoll has use this opportunity to say so.

He wonders how many posts have gone up in his name, when clearly it was not him. Most likely, they are the rude dirty ones, as Alan is not rude or dirty (well, at least not the former.)
idiot, why delete it for

you know ill just do it again

Amber also senses the irony, as she is surrounded by people who are stressing about their last exam.... being Society and Culture this afternoon. Yay for Amber!

Amber wishes Justin all the best in mowing the lawn, and admits that she may go home in order to play Riven at some point, and also to see if she can get her computer working. Also Amber has not eaten anything at all yet today (as she had huuuuge feast last night that would have made Marcus proud!!) and is wondering if she should go to the povo canteen and buy some milk... mmmm :D

Justin feels proud, as he recently read that book. He has almost finished Tehanu, the final book in the Quartet.

Justin vaugely remembers Marcus mentioning another book in the series, and wonders what the title is.
Lynn for some reason missed that part of Marcus' post and wonders how Justin is finding the quartet. Lynn didn't get it the first time and had to read it - particularly Tehanu - at least one other time to "get" it.

Amber just got back from maccas with friend. At McD's, they contemplated collecting pickles to bring back and throw gaily around their old common room, however common sense prevailed and they did not :D

Amber notes that Justin has completed his labourious tasks and has now returned! :p

Amber tells Justin that in Riven, she is up to the part where you can get into the golden dome from the back, go to the other front entrance, switch the lever which raises the bridge, and is (when she gets home) going to go back out the back way, go around and enter the higher level of the golden dome which probably leads to the control room looking thingy. She asks if Justin is up to the same, or if not then she has probably given away some secrets there, and sends her apologies

Amber thinks this babydoll person is rather mysterious, and Amber thinks that it is unfair that she took advantage of Alan's forgetfulness to exploit his user name. Amber still loves Alan however and Amber is still spreading the love!

Yes, Amber wonders if babydoll changed poor Alan's password, and therefore wants to know how he got back into his user....... :(

Justin read the Quartet about seven years ago and didn't understand it at all. He was too young. As he is now a more mature person and an experienced reader, he is greatly enjoying the Quartet, and can see how Le Guin's style has changed as she became more experienced in writing.

Justin thinks that Tehanu is a great book, possibly because the majority of it is not set at sea.

Justin is not yet up to that part in his current attempt, as Windows refuses to notice his CD drive, however he has been up to it before. That was about the time that he got stuck. :)

Lynn agrees but wishes there was an epilogue or something to follow Tehanu's life. Lynn imagines that it would be quite eventful.

Justin will love the twist at the end of Tehanu. It really kills the book's early sense of despair

Justin cannot remember the end of Tehanu, but assumed from an early stage that Therru's true name is Tehanu.

In response to Marcus's post, Justin says he hopes so. He is greatly enjoying it already. He likes how a different perspective on Ged's character is being given.

Marcus greets everyone. He is a little depressed about his art exam. He didn't finish his final essay. He only talked about two artists and ran out of time for his third entirely!

Justin thinks that with Marcus's exceptional range of knowledge, he need not worry too much about his exam.

Justin states that the books that he, Lynn and Marcus are talking about are called A Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan, The Farthest Shore and Tehanu, all by Ursula Le Guin. He thinks that they will be most commonly found in one volume called The Earthsea Quartet.

Yes, it is her real name. But there is something else about her Justin doesn't yet know. Marcus also thought that Le Guin's representation of Ged in "Tehanu" was interesting. He had always wished though, that Tenar would become a mage and give the blokes at Roke a run for their money. But he suppose the books actual ending is far better than that. And Le Guin knows how to keep her reader.
