jk, it was about 0.41 mol/L.

0.028 = .17^2 * .17 / x
x^2 = .17^2 *.17 / 0.028
x^2 = 0.175
square root 0.175 = 0.41

Can confirm by plugging it back into the equation:
.17^2 * .17 / 0.41^2 = 0.28ish

The 0.41 is not exact as I didn't carry over the significant figures properly during the calculations.

Dude its 0.34^x 0.17/x^2

Your answer is wrong

I thought value of K was Products over Reactants, which would mean it was:
0.028=[NOCl]^2/[0.34]^2*[0.17]
[NOCl]^2=0.028*[0.34]^2*[0.17]
[NOCl]=Sq Rt of above answer
I think I got 0.023

for the 7 marker, did we have to draw the structural formula for the different types of detergents

hardly anyone gets 7 in those long responses.
to get 7 i rekon you had to talk about
a) saponification, definition of it, what a soap is, its structure
- draw its structure
- show why it is used as a cleaning agent (using all your like-like dissolves and micelles)
- relate that to use (personal hygiene for washing hands and body)
- show it forms scum with Mg Ca
- show its biodegradable

b) Anionic
- structure
- explain cleaning action
- forms soluble complex with Mg/Ca hence doesnt form scum, however the soluble complex are still annoying
- it originally had a non-linear carbon chain making it not biodegradable meaning it was common to see foam clog up waterways, later they rectified this by making the carbon chain linear
- use of phosphates, link to eutrophication
- use of detergent as general cleaning agent

- cationic detergent
- cation + SO3+ and benzene ring structure
- why it is impervious to Ca/Mg
- how it cleans
- Relate properties to use as hair washer
-due to lack of scum formed and a biodegradeable chain, generally non destructive to environment

-non ionic
- structure
- how it cleans
- where it originates from (crude oil), hence putting stress on oil reserves which, talk about environmental problems here
- use in washing machine

there are a few more i may have forgotten but i rekon thats how pedantic they will get. its quite alot to write

For cations I thought it was a trimethylammonium ion?
