Not sure if this will help you for English but Harry Potter is really good, easy read fun etc.I've finally caved. I need to start reading if I want to stand a chance in doing well in english. What suggestions do you guys have for books that aren't super long and have some action (no romantic like stuff)?
bruh this is for like yr 3's.Not sure if this will help you for English but Harry Potter is really good, easy read fun etc.
u dont need to actively read outside of school to stand a chance of doing well in english.I've finally caved. I need to start reading if I want to stand a chance in doing well in english. What suggestions do you guys have for books that aren't super long and have some action (no romantic like stuff)?
I don't see what's wrong with them giving advice. It's just general reading material that they are suggestingYou really need to stop giving people advice lol your not even in year 12 lmao
Ah right, that was the main goal: to get better at my creative writing, seeing as I'm currently in the Reading to Write common module. My teacher suggested to me that reading widely may help me find a style of writing that I both enjoy and will be able to write well with. Do you have any more like less dense stuff lmaoAlthough, for new modules that require you to write creatively / discursively / persuasively, reading good books can inspire. I'd recommend 'The Republic' by Plato. Fucking hefty, dense read but very very good.
To be honest, i think you're in need of the advice you're dismissing as useless:LMAO someone is actually gonna follow the useless advice and get done. Without context (the person has given questionable advice in the past and i didnt comment) I don't think you should comment either but it is what it is.

no worries, i've made it bigger so you don't forget it!Thank you for.your knowledge and wisdom. But seems like your a bit confused, I will leave you be, don't wanna strain your brain
Not everyone needs to be a 1000 iq English genius to comment. She is just giving a book recommendation of a book I presume she likes, I don't see the big deal.LMAO someone is actually gonna follow the useless advice and get done. Not really quote some past adviceI'm sorry Guo en. Can you teach me how to completely avoid the questions like you do?
Have you read her past "advice"
relax man, it doesn't benefit anyone when you're getting pretty aggravated over an internet forum about school...I'm sorry Guo en. Can you teach me how to completely avoid the questions like you do?

Let me have a think about it. Although, I do really suggest books that are a bit content heavy/philosophical. A book like the Republic is 'easier' to read than most dense books, just because it's a conversational type book (two philosophers going at each-others throats).Ah right, that was the main goal: to get better at my creative writing, seeing as I'm currently in the Reading to Write common module. So, when I did the reading to write module last year, I read, "The Great Gatsby". I wouldn't necessarily say its a book you can really adapt your writing style to. However, no matter what text you decide to read, always look out for:Ah right, that was the main goal: to get better at my creative writing, seeing as I'm currently in the Reading to Write common module.
