Alright, does anyone here actually read them? I'm just curious.

I've only read some by the one author, and though they were all quite similar, I really enjoyed them. I'm presently going through a bit of a mushy and romantic phase, and these books seem to fit the bill- only I don't know anyone else apart from my sister who reads them, LOL.

Anyone read them or know some good ones? Or am I alone in my lame-ness?

I havnt read a book in a while (blame hsc)

but one i really liked was the bronze horsemen

i cant remember who its by but its in like every bookshop

its set in russia in WWII yeh and its this mad epic love story and they have to hide there love blabalal

slightly porno in the middle

but like its really good (not the porn like the actual story)

so check that out if it sounds like it floats ur boat.

The only one I've read, which is Karen Marie Moning. Her writing style is really relaxed, which I like. Although I find she sometimes forces big words. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

One of her books made me cry. Tragic, I know.


And as for what Midi said, we tend to go to the 'health' sections and lol over how graphic the Karma Sutra books and what not are.

I do that sometimes if I'm bored. I can never find any woman on woman scenes though. I don't mind some of the descriptions where its from a womans point of view and focuses more on her body, I would imagine the man is merely another woman with a strap on.

I don't do it on a regular basis though, so maybe I will find some later. Lol.

hii.. i read romance books too
i recommend that u read the Bronze Horseman, The bridge to holy cross and the summer garden.. they are a saga.. love stories.. they have a bit of history in them.. but overall they're great

Some of us extension English students got bored one day in our free period. We spend the entire time writing an erotic/romance novel. Think along the lines of the guidance counsellors story from "10 things I hate about you".

There's a lot of stories with romance aspects that don't necessarily come under the slushy sections ahaha.

I have read a bit of Nicholas Sparks - A Walk to Remember I must admit.

And recently (though I hate to admit it) read Twilight and that is incredibly sappy sad teen romance. If you are that way inclined it fits the bill perfectly.

Brenda Joyce, Gaelen Foley, & Johanna Lindsey are pretty good authors.

JL: Mallory Family Series, and a few random books.
GF: The Knight Miscellany <it's the only series i've read from her.
BJ: Bragg Saga, The de Warenne Dynasty

Jullianne Maclean, &Jude Deveraux, are alright too.

My friend got me into these books haha.

I gobbled these up in year 7 and 8. Even the blaze/sexy/desire ones. I always felt all shifty, going to the library and trying not to let anyone see me, this 12-year-old kid with 20 mills and boon stories in her arms
It makes me laugh now, looking at all the titles (the millionaire sheikh's virgin, having the boss's baby, the billionaire's secretary bride... so sexist, but so funny )

Yepp definitely Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook, Message in a bottle and True Believer are my favs from him ^^

I like them, but I won't read them unless they've got good characters and storyline that I can respect. Pride and Prejudice will always have a home on my shelf.

The "omg im in love with my boss..." makes me want to stab them, and really any badly written characters generally piss me off. Not to mention the 'i love him so much i'm going to run into danger', or 'i know he's a dickhead, but for me he'd give it all up'...

The ones which are mixed genres are usually the better ones romance/mystery, romance/historical, romance/adventure, romance/humour etc.

Johanna Lindsey, Linda Howard, Lisa Kleypas, are some good authors. I've found however that romance is one genre that reflects quite accurately the status of women, how they're supposed to act, when they're supposed to get married and generally the society mores at the time it was written. So do yourself and favour and don't read anything older then early 90s.

try nicholas sparks. hes written a few good romantics but i dont know whether you'll like them. he's the author of The Notebook. i liked Dear John.
