What did you think?

History was easier than Geography IMHO - I didn't learn enough about how to write about issues and I don't know too much about fieldwork or anything. I was also confused on what aspect referred to in the multiple choice question with that mountain.

One word: easy. Multiple choice was simple as usual, and the responses were very straight forward (and open might I add), if you knew your core stuff you would have aced it.

Depending on how the markers are I would not be suprised in getting 95+ for this. Probably my only concern is my level of objectivity in some of the responses. Hope I get a lefty ;)

Re: SC 2007 - History/Geography

For history, i did generally well in all of the paper, expect maybe the multiple choice section (i just got confused between 2 most likely answers for some questions). I think i got 15/15 for the last section though (hopefully).

For geography, i think i stuffed up the question about the 2 sources + 2 fieldworks and some questions, but also did generally well

PREDICTIONS

History: 85-93%
Geography: 83-92%

Re: SC 2007 - History/Geography

I found the geography multiple choice hard for me as i had not done much on maps. im expecting though 90+ for both hist and geography.

Out of curiosity um what is an aspect of a slope

Re: SC 2007 - History/Geography

That Fieldwork/Data thing threw me a little, but I realised it was only 1 mark per thing so I figure they wont care about being 100% accurate. I said the data you could collect were questionaires/surveys on the local residents about the pollution and council reports. Fieldwork I said a scientific and visual investigation.

Oh, was anyone else pissed at the number of lines for each question? There was like, less than half a page for each answer, and I wanted to write around 1 page on some things (would have easily had the time to do it). I know you could ask the supervisors to write it elsewhere, but I didn't bother doing that, just squashed it in at the bottom.

All the BLANK PAGES could have been like an extra page to write on.

Oh and 1 multiple choice question I have to ask you guys about: What did you put for wind direction at Perth? I said it was the opposite to which the arrow was facing (forget if it was east or west) and 20km, but I've been screwed on this in past papers.
Scale of that map was 1:25,000 , right?

Edit: Aspect is the direction in which the slope declines, in this case the answer was SW

Re: SC 2007 - History/Geography

If markers like responses with absolutely no relevance to the question, then I should do reasonable.

Re: SC 2007 - History/Geography

These both were so easy, almost as good as the english test. Though I didn't study any of the coursework I managed to write decent responses and answered most of the multiple choice questions with confidence. Yay! :)

Aspect of a slope = the direction in which the slope named is facing.

History was good :] (I hope LOL)
Yeah, I got mixed up between two of the selections, but overall long response was good.

GEO OMFG.
I completely bullshitted Human Rights. Yeah yeah, it was the only one I didn't bother to study for.
Sigh. Silly me ><

Re: SC 2007 - History/Geography

What did everyone put for the question about a disaster in Indonesia and sending Australian troops: Aid or Defence?

I put Aid, seemed a bit more of an aid thing.

Re: SC 2007 - History/Geography

I loved it! Especially the history ext. response...it was the exact one I got for my trials...that was a gift of a question and I studied hardest for this subject... not as good as the maths exam but still good...WAY better than science...lol I did so badly in that...

I couldn't remember some of the geography terms, but that was all. The long response questions were easy.

Everyone please move to the Exam Thoughts forum!

Re: SC 2007 - History/Geography

History multiple choice a bit hard at times.
History short answers:
> Vietnam = easy
> Choice of women, migrants etc = a bit hard, had to generalise
> Tent Embassy one = okay, but my answer was shit when i read over it
History Extended = hmmm, don't know, depends how they mark it, but it was okay i guess

Geography multiple choice i am very confident and happy with.
Geography short answers:
> Skills graph = sweet.
> Geographical processes = sweet.
> Fieldwork stuff = okay, depends how they mark it.
Extended response = hmmmm, again, don't know, i was a bit genearlised and waffled to a fair extent

Overall, predicting a high band 5 is history and low band 6 in geography, give or take 5% in each one.

HAPPY THEY ARE OVER!!!!

I wrote about air quality, and how it's contaminated, and how we can stop it.. and stuff. Oh my. (is that right?)
Fieldwork is just like, what would you do! make it up~ oh yeah.. ~ LOL
Aspect was the direction of the slope.
And the answer was .. SW? or something

Yes, I couldn't quite remember about processes. I just wrote some crap about what affects air quality and stuff, hope I can still get some marks for it.
