Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Batistuta perhaps, he lives in Perth doesnt he? Teddy Sheringyham just signed a 1 yr extension with West Ham and rejected Spurs, so rule him out. Unless he intends on playing when he is 41, but if anyone can, teddy can!

Sorta a half arsed 'yay'

I mean although his tactics are not very popular, he still coached us to a Championship and I think that counts for alot.

I agree with him. Mariners are the best team in the league and Newcastle are hopeless.

GO THE MIGHTY MARINERS.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

i wanna see these 2 brazilian forwards for melbourne start up

once they get used to the A-League (no big deal eh) they'll either be absolutely fantastic or shithouse, im hoping the former as it'd be a great boost for the Victory and their fan base, and the A-League. We need entertaining not just boring football (i.e. Melbourne last season), so maybe they'll be better this year.

Newcastle wont suck this year, Mariners will hopefully still be strong, Brisbane will be entertaining as per last year, sydney wont be as boring as last year (boring and success is quite a pair, take chelsea), the rest? well i dont care

i keep forgetting to get season tickets, fuck my debit card

I understand Archie Thompson will be returning to Victory (?), so if the Brazillian pair fire too, that could be a lot of goals right there, plus the added bonus of watching football with flair.

True, boring + success does undermine the achievement, and rightly so. eg. Chelsea, English union side. I also have a natural negative-attitude towards the two teams but still. :mad1:

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

So is this year's A-League around the same time? End of August? Is it free-to-air?

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Well Neill and Cahill want to invest pretty heavily in the A-League.

That should be even better news for the game :)

Can't believe the season is starting so soon again!

Can't wait .. hopefully by South Africa 2010, Sydney FC will have five Premierships to their name.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Would have gone to the 'Gong to see the game, but went to the netball instead :S

'Twas a wee bit easier to get to, being in Sydney and all...but i'm sure not as exciting as the Kuwait game on Wed! OMG Dodd was our saviour! 1 goal and 1 set up - champion!
