I've heard quite a bit, but a few of my favourites:

(1) "You'd better know CPR."
"Why?"
"...'cos you're taking my breath away."

(2) "Are these space pants? 'Cos your ass is out of this world!"

(3) "You're so hot, I'd better smother you with my body before you burst into flames."

(4) "You're 2 over Cos C - 2 (too) Sec C (sexy)."

I've learnt a bit about pick-up lines. Ironically it's in a lecture and we're being examined on them! Pick-up lines tend to work when the lines demonstrate flattery, increasing the liking that the other person would have for you.

I find pickup lines to be a kind of convention. The male says the line, the woman registers the line and registers that he is interested in her, she weighs up her own interest, and thus reacts in either a positive or negative manner.

I spose if the line's particularly funny/original/flattering it might increase the odds by making her at least want to talk to you for longer... thus get to know you better... but all in all I don't think it matters what a guy comes out with providing it isn't negative.

pickup lines just get an initial conversation going. You've probably got a better chance "picking up" if you go over and introduce yourself.
