To answer your question - Yes, I'm totally sure that a quick slap across the face is the equivilant of forcefully violating a person sexually. Rape also lasts no more than a second of contact at most and its effects quickly fade. A slap leaves the victim with almost unhealable emotional and mental trauma. A slap causes the victim to often contemplate suicide or enter deep depression.

Yeah, I can see why you'd think rape and slaps are the same.

Any thoughts on the rate of unwanted sex? Are we talking about rape here and what can be done to combat it?

I don't think we are discussing rape as the reasons given for experiencing "unwanted sex" seemed to be drunkeness (undermining judgement ) and weakness under peer pressure.

A girl being drunk and agreeing to sex then regretting it does not mean she has been raped.
A girl choosing to have sex because her partner ribbed her/begged her does not constitute rape on the blokes part.

I thought from the opening post that we were discussing whether we considered the instances of 'unwanted sex' referred to as rape - i emphatically consider it not rape for a man to have sex with a intoxicated and consenting woman unless he spiked her drink, etc.
