y = 2√(x+1) - 4
what would the endpoint of this equation be?
What would the domain and range be?

You can't square root a negative

If x<-1 then you square root a negative. So the endpoint is at x=-1

Also, the domain should be x≥-1 and range y≥-4, i.e. the inequalities should not be strict
so would y = 2√(x+4) - 5 have an endpoint of (-4,-5)?
