I agreed with the article but I dont necessarily blame aussies. I've been here more than 2 years and i only made 3 aussie friends. 1 is my own friend and the other 2 became my friends because they are friends of my friend.
The reason I think is that most people have different class and time tables and apart from the difficulties in communication, there is too little time to socialise and get acquainted with new people at the university.
My biggest regret is I didnot go to America where people are far more open to multiculturalism and there are LESS clique at university based on ehtnic backgrounds because most people come to university from far flung places and they all need to make friends, but here, most students are local and they already knew people , have more than enough friends.
So, i'm wasting 3 years of my life, in australia among the people who look DOWN on me! (I ddint know that we are being looked down until someone said so in this thread and thanks for telling me that)
