According to his ranks he got 1st for everything except 2nd in advanced eng. That is the craziest thing ive ever seen.

As Ivan pointed out earlier to bet with your head, no.

After Julian not topping maths last year and Ivan not topping it this year, I don't think anything's certain anymore.

Has the world gone topsy turvy? I THINK SO!

So it seems again the mathematical elite screwed up on the day. Sorry Ngai, had to say it :p

sorry tom, but i have to say:
ngai can actually be classified as a "mathematical elite" (whatever that is), he has been known to do well over the years in various maths comps and such and wasnt all that far away from getting a trip to athens.
...unlike someone else:D.

(waiting for squillions of "i hate you" msgs from keypad, almost as many as the number of past papers he did)

I was growling at his signature. Estel can top it if he wants. I do maths because it's fun.

I don't hate you.

Let me put it this way. I beat Jason Chung and Julian Gibbons in maths.

That's enough to satisfy me.

i didnt think 4u was that fun to the extend of doing it for fun. I did it because it gives good scaling.

Had Keypad not gone to Riverview where opporunities to the competitions are limited, he would have made an appearance in most of them.

opportunity arise from getting decent result in other more common competitions (amc) that he did enter. (anyway im just rebutting to keypads' comment of ngai was lucky that ppl stuffed up this year)

anyway thats not the point of the thread, no matter what happened, keypad did top last year and ngai did this year, so congrats on a great effort.

I think it might have been earlier than "on the day" that it screwed up this year:p
