The HSC is apparently something very important. However, I can't exactly impose this 'importance' upon myself and act favourably. Lol.

How much do I want to succeed? Well, I'd like to think that I want to succeed, but if this is really the case, why am I lacking in motivation?

Failure? I won't 'fail'. The repercussions would be, annoyance at wasting time procrastinating and feeling stressed over something that didn't amount to much. Utilitarian viewpoint there!

My life won't be over. Death will have just begun!

Failure= parents kill me, no attending ADFA. That is, if I don't die of stress/work/assessment overexposure first!!

it's the quickest way into uni.

quite a lot. It's a lot easier than going through tafe or waiting until you can enter as a mature age.

I will have to take a backdoor into uni

Well if I didn't want to succeed, I wouldn't waste my time doing the HSC and getting a pathetic mark.

Get over it mate. If it hurts you that bad - redo Year 12

Prob go to TAFE or re-sit year 12, or try and get into uni another way

As long as i get 60 UAI then i wont be too worried. id like more, but at the end of the day you need 60 to get into a course at uni and then you can transfer to just about whatever course you want after a year (provided you get the marks). but if i dont get 60 ill be pretty pissed off.

i don't really know how to answer that...
at the moment, it feels like it means ALOT.

How much do you want to succeed?

im pretty intent on doing well; in terms of getting into the course i want, i want very much to succeed. if you're not driven in some way or another, i don't see why you'd still be doing it.

What does it mean to you if you fail?

you can't "fail" the hsc. but yeah, as in not meeting my goals, well, i'd rather not think about that

What are the repercussions of failing/going bad?

wallowing in a hole, until i figure out some other way to get to where i want to be

no, i don't plan on killing myself if it all turns to shit. my life wouldn't be "over", i'd just have to work harder through other avenues, which, while perfectly doable i imagine would be a pain in the arse.

A bullsh!t exam put in the way to let Year 12s spend their last year of schooling in PAIN.

Above average, but never have I aimed to be anywhere near the TOP though.

Less options to choose, choosing a lower course...it's not the end of the world but I'd want to get into my first preference first go to save time.

Lower course, WASTING TIME

Not really. I'm just happy it'd all be over woohoo!!!!!!!!

It basically represents my struggle to see what I can achieve; I think my limits are being truely tested for the first time in my life and achieving my HSC goal would empower me and make me feel like I can do anything I set myself to do.

* How much do you want to succeed?
While my career doesn't really balance on it, I think my mental health/self confidence does, so I want to succeed alot?

* What does it mean to you if you fail?
That I have no self control; that I was in a position for me to go all out, but I didn't and so I felt like I didn't actually reach my academic limit, but that I am limited by my self-control/motivation, and this will most likely frustrate me for years until I achieve success in a career

* What are the repercussions of failing/going bad?
Depression, more Depression, followed by Newcastle uni/party and then I'll go on to have a pretty similar career anyway

* Will your life be over if you stuff up in the HSC?
No, just all my pride will be destroyed and I realise how useless I actually am... Its bound to happen sometime anyway.
