my friend got a job at justin paul straight out of year 12, just doing retail and a bit of PR. She gets a wage of something in the low $20s, plus $8000 in store credits every fashion season to spend on clothes and they are buying her a vespa to ride around on.

she also got an all expenses paid trip to sydney with her boyfriend to do "training" (read, sitting around drinking expensive wine)

Casual..

I need a new job :( . I was thinking about getting one at a call center but that's like a last resort. I'll try my local Telstra store or something.

Call centre is a pretty cool job actually. I have a few friends who have been doing it for the duration of uni (2-3 years). Don't get outbound though. That'll drain the life out of you.

Have you made much from McDonalds?

14.something at Woolworths for 18 y.o. So shit though, I'm only getting nightfill shifts that go to 3 am. It's so depressing, i'm considering quitting.

Yeah and there are a lot of call centre jobs on seek so pretty simple to get I think. Hmm i didn't do that many shifts so I was only making like $50-$70 per week? But post-schoolies I did quite a few and was making $150ish pw? I'm pretty lazy so I only did 1-2 shifts per week lol.

Yeah call centre work is pretty sweet, but you gotta do inbound. It's more fun. Outbound kills 100 brain cells from boredom for every minute you do it.

Another perk is that it's far easier to deal with retarded/abusive customers because they can't see you so as long as you can fake a cheerful voice you can facepalm and gesture all you want and they'll never know.

Haha yes! I work 2 jobs and although the call centre job can wear me out some days, due to the retarded customers, it's such a chill environment. I spend most of the time on the net, eating, napping, etc and the pay is always good

Outbound = stress!

Inbound call centre = one of the easiest jobs I've ever had

Were you on inbound calls?

I only do 2 shifts a week and get $320 pretax @ $20ph
