1. you have equal opportunities
2. that private schools are shit/spoiled/etc
3. you will come out the same after 6 years

however the truth is that
1. there are more opportunities in terms of everything at private schools
2. grounds, facilities are better, teachers may be more caring
3. you have a greater chance of making friends with rich children
4. after graduating you have the opportunity to employ a different mindset to hsc focused public school children depending on which school you went to and what your parents wanted you to get out of that specific type of education

public school students perform better at university.

But seriously fuck private schools, the only thing that determines how well you do at school in Australia is the student, you can do anything you want if you put your mind to it. And besides the only reason half the private schools get decent rankings is because of scholarships, they just try and buy their glory.

I don't think a scholarship is 'buying glory', its a concerted attempt to get people who genuinely can't afford to go to a private school to have opportunities they normally would not have. Half the scholars I know aren't on scholarships for academic reasons.

No offence sikhman but i don't think any private schools hands out scholarships so that they don't benefit in some manner. As much as private schools are schools - they're also a business. Scholarships are a PR jackpot that is an attempt to abolish the elitist stigma and on top of that bring on talented students irrespective of whether it's extracirricular or academic. I'm not saying private schools are in it just for self-interest but there is no denying that there are mutual benefits in the scholarship deal - considering that in getting most scholarships you have to maintain a certain high standard or they revoke it.
