First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread This question is part of the chapter on Gaussian elimination and matrices etc. Am I correct in thinking that this line would be parallel to the plane if its direction vector <2,3,-1> is a linear combination of <1,1,0> and <0,1,-1>? Or am I totally off? Someone...

Questions for people who are doing/ have recently completed an engineering degree?

Re: Questions for people who are doing/ have recently completed an engineering degree Is this at UNSW? Coz I heard from someone that you'd be lucky to find a girl in your tute

    How hard is ACCT2542?

Basically as per the title. Did you have to attend lectures? Is there a lot of preparation required for tutorials? Is it difficult to get a 80-85+?? I'm aware that it is only offered in semester 2, would it fk up my progression a lot if I delayed taking this course? I still haven't...

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread I get what we're trying to do but I'm still not getting it, if I sub in like theta = 0 and x = Pi, then I get like l = -1/2 which makes no sense because l is meant to be an integer?

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread so theta = ± cos inverse (cosx)+ 2kπ How do you know what value to use for k? so lost

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread Ok I think I understand what you're saying. I barely remember anything from 3 unit, I was such a flop back then because I never thought I would be doing a uni math subject Will try searching up general solutions

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread i dont think I really understand this would guess -(Pi-x)??

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread The question was to simplify the expression. are you subtracting x from 180 degrees because the range of the the sine inverse function is restricted to between -90 and 90 degrees?

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread How do I do this?

Re: MATH1131 help thread Thanks guys :') lmao I'm so dumb

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread Wait never mind, I kind of get it in my head but I don't know how to write the working out formally

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread Wait I'm kind of confused, after you rewrite the function, do you use l'hopital's rule on it? or do you just know that it tends to one (?)

    Lecture recordings

doing infs1602 so I'm not sure how i'll do, got a high d for acct1511 um depends on you? Do you learn a lot when you go to lectures? I just personally feel like lecturers don't really do that much and commerce isn't exactly rocket science

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread i can't use l'hopital's rule for this can I? How am I meant to know what sin(1/x) even looks like in the first place?
  15. matchalolz

    Lecture recordings

acct1511 and infs1602 don't release recordings fins1612 has quizzes in lectures I skipped everything but that's up to you to decide imo Haven't done tabl1710. I think you should check the course outline if they released it because it might change semester to semester

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2017 Thanks for the responses, I was just asking because the lectures are spread out over four days and I don't think I can go to it

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2017 Does your lecturer write up equations on the board that doesn't get filmed by the recording? Because I know that happens with one of the subjects I'm taking rn

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2017 Are discrete math lectures recorded at all?

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2017 I used to not give a f*** about trimesters because I work full time but on the off-chance that I quit or something I think it'll srsly mess things up

Re: MATH1131 help thread I'll keep that in mind It's probably going to take some time before this fully sinks into my mind
