    Advanced Maths Predictions

I would prepare for stats. It wasn't just last year, the new syllabus has an emphasis on stats all the way till 2020. There's been a trend, and I wouldn't be surprised if theres a lot of stats questions this year too. Stats are easy - when I did my hsc though, we didnt expect it so noone was...

    MUSIC 1 AURAL THOUGHTS

Hahahaha probably like three people who've done it. Looks like NESA is looking towards a more modern approach? No classical music this year.

    What subject do I drop?

I'd recommend dropping PDHPE. As far as I know, PDHPE is a far less scaling subject than Economics, and as someone who does a 'low-scaling' subject, the effort I had to put in to get excellent marks completely destroyed my love for music. Economics is a great subject, and one that I wished I had...

    Eng Adv Paper 2 Predictions

yup, good possibility. if they do, likely to be hollow or magi; perhaps preludes since students neglect that as his easiest and least substantial poem (it truly is, his worst poem out of the bunch. but, oh well). be prepared for various questions aligning to the excerpt, including: referring to...

    Eng Adv Paper 2 Predictions

Take one of the positions of your discursive and having a commanding tone. Also, don't stress, because I really, HIGHLY doubt they will go persuasive only.

Casual or School Uniform to HSC exam

Definetely not just you. My proportions are weird so it makes my uniform an absolute pain to wear when sitting down... I dont know why some of the individuals here ridiculed you for wanting to wear casual. It seems dumb that kids have to wear uniform for their exams... you graduate, do all...

    Any tips for Year 12?

In my experience, year 11 and year 12 were far different for me. I didn't focus too hard in year 11 as I knew it was my last year I could have some proper fun, and I definetely wasn't aiming or even projecting for a 99+. I think that the HSC and getting a great ATAR comes down to two things: 1...

    english paper 1

yeah, for everyone worrying so much about 'form'; your analysis most likely covers that anyways. the question was very, very broad, and paper 1 is quite forgiving. I honestly think paper 2 won't be too bad, and were all panicing too much. Let's all just wait till tomorrow! NESA let us off the...

What are your tips for reading task time management Paper 1 Advanced English?

yep, exactly what i'm doing. have done so many papers that there is a distinct structure to my essays, but i haven't rote memorised anything. so many different structures for mod b depending on the emphasis of the question.

Predictions for Eng. advanced questions 2022??

I personally think hollow men is the most obscure; but I guess that's entirely subjective. It seems that usually if a text is prescribed, it's his later ones (Hollow or Magi), because those are the ones student's neglect the most (atleast that's what I've experienced in the trials I've done). I...

What are your tips for reading task time management Paper 1 Advanced English?

i wouldn't say so... why do memorised essays immediately have substance? people across the whole academic range in english memorise essays... strange.

What are your tips for reading task time management Paper 1 Advanced English?

that's not too much. if you go in with an essay memorised or even half-memorised, and you have fast writing, you can write 1200+. now, a lot of the students who would write 1200+ dont write anything of substance though.

Anyone have aural exam tips for music?

Hello, Just wondering if any bos'ers who do or have done music 1/2 could provide some general tips/structural tips for the aural exam this thursday. I did pretty good in the trials; but want to elevate my mark to cover for any hiccups I may have encountered in my performance exam. Thank you!

Would the marking at a top 5 school be harsher than hsc marking in english advanced?

probs, almost definetely, actually. marking at almost any internal exam is usually harsher. atleast thats what most my teachers say. while internal exams will have certain levels of bias, and frustation of hours of unpaid labour, markers get paid for the marking they do after their full time...

    Technique help

I would agree with EBU that it is indeed hyperbole. However, if it fit your argument, I believe that it could also be a biblical allusion to Jesus' miracle of Decapolis - where he heals a deaf mute.

Predictions for Eng. advanced questions 2022??

I think Mod A this year might be easier - so general question, and then Module B will be a text-specific question about how it portrays the certain motif of the author you're studying.
  19. d1zzyohs

    subject selection help, pls!!

Ditto with what EBU said. But further to this - if you aren't the strongest at English (which lots, and lots of students aren't), treat English like it's Maths. The only difference between English and Maths, is that English is an absolute pain to study for and essays feel like the biggest waste...
