What should I do to take chances for the 99.95

Well you'll obviously need to Dux, and then some. But it'll come down to externals, which is a lot of stress..
  2. D

Atar Estimate pls updated after trials.

If you're aiming for 98, that is possible. It just comes down to whether you manage to perform during the externals. It's not a comfortable 98, so you will need to continue to work hard. Good luck!

    Getting a 99+ with 2 units of music 1

CS and Software Engineering together? Maybe consider one or the other, both together is redundant since they are very similar and offer identical job outcomes

How important are raw internal marks to state ranks?

For chem, you need 98 to state rank, 99 is typically first in state. And yeah you need to be ranked first internally

    Heisenberg and Tom Holland

    I can kinda see it

    Civil Engineering: USYD or UNSW?

This 100% There aren't any S-tier unis in Australia (in terms of reputation), unlike in the US where you have MIT/Stanford/CMU/UC Berkeley/Georgia Tech/Caltech etc.. for engineering/cs. So you can't rely on your uni to do the heavy lifting. It comes down to what you've accomplished on your CV...

    Civil Engineering: USYD or UNSW?

Oh and do not underestimate how much of a pain trimesters are - it is such a hassle to organise holidays with friends from UNSW that often they just get excluded unless it's the summer holidays. Everyone else is normal but UNSW

    Civil Engineering: USYD or UNSW?

USYD and UNSW are basically equivalent. UTS is up and coming but not quite on the same level reputationally, albeit definitely a comfortable 3rd for engineering in NSW. No employer is gonna be like, oh, you go to USYD/UNSW, let's hire you. It's more like, oh you go to one of those unis, I can...

I've got a few questions about degrees.

True, but no one can really plan to become CEO

I've got a few questions about degrees.

It isn't if you go into patent law for example, but otherwise it's a huge time investment

is it possible to state rank externals in Physics and Chemistry to get a B6 average?

State rank is based on HSC mark, not external mark. If you mean absolutely crush the external exam and bring up a low internals mark, then yes, it's an average so just bring either up and ur good

University of Technology Sydney vs Macquarie University

Yeah, when it comes to employability/research, UNSW is better. USYD is also good. The Shanghai rankings are the only rankings that rate UTS so highly, can't be bothered looking into their selection criteria to figure out why.

    Thoughts on CS + SWE?

You can model stuff - great for people working in finance, research, machine learning, data science etc..
  14. D

In titration calculations, do you always average all the titres except for the first one?

You ignore the outlier and then take the average. The outlier is the one that is significantly greater than the other ones. Typically this is the first as its the "rough" run, but not always
  15. D

how much do the yr 12 assignments matter in your atar??

What assignments? If they aren't counted as part of your internals mark, they are inconsequential to your ATAR
  16. D

University of Technology Sydney vs Macquarie University

UTS is possibly better when it comes to reputation specifically for IT. However, you are right to consider the environment - you'll be spending most of your time there. Ultimately, the uni you pick isn't the deciding factor, both are good unis. It comes down entirely to you, i.e. its on you to...

    Thoughts on CS + SWE?

A lot of people regret studying Commerce at uni (basically they complain its poorly taught and essentially common sense anyways). But this is me saying this, so ask around - try to see if you can get into contact with people studying cs + commerce If you want to get into data sci, Comp Sci +...

99 Chemistry, 94 Biology - Sydney Grammar Graduate Tutoring

Bump, I just opened 1 spot for Chemistry or Biology :)

    Thoughts on CS + SWE?

biomedical because I'm interested in studying medicine later on. but if mechatronics interests you that seems to be the best for employability atm
