    Thoughts on CS + SWE?

Whatever interests you. The degrees/majors I listed are the best for job prospects imo. I personally went for engo/compsci because I have 2x the employment options (engineering and compsci jobs) and engo was interesting to me. If you go for maths/cs or phys/cs, that makes you a strong candidate...

    Thoughts on CS + SWE?

Yes, very much so redundant. CS or SWE. CS is more flexible and what I personally went with. Anything quantitative is a fantastic pair with CS. So maths, physics, other engo disciplines. But it will be harder

    MATH PRODIGIES PLS HELP

You have to learn from your mistakes. This is the crucial thing that anyone who is successful in any field needs to master. For maths, you get something wrong, you ask yourself why did you get it wrong. What is the solution? Do you understand every step? Could you explain it to your friend? What...

    MATH PRODIGIES PLS HELP

There are very few people who are math prodigies. They are just typical average people who grind past papers, which is exactly what everyone should be doing. Except these "prodigies" grind way more. I remember my friend going as far back as the 1970s HSC papers as he had done all the modern HSC...

What happens if the students placed 1st and 2nd in the internals get the same HSC mark?

Ahh I implicitly assumed that both students would also get the highest mark in the external exam which is not necessarily correct - jimmy is more correct than me

What happens if the students placed 1st and 2nd in the internals get the same HSC mark?

I think you mean same external exam mark (HSC mark is average of internal + external). Then they would have the same internal mark, the same external mark, and hence the same HSC mark

    Pseuodocode Help

Looks good, the only thing I would add when actually implementing this would be to make sure that the calculated average uses float division, not integer division.

Advice for last monthish of high school

Spend tons of time with your friends! Enjoy the last of your classes, maybe start a journal and write down your thoughts so you can look back on it fondly in a few years time. Don't take anything too seriously - yes you should still be studying for the HSC, but you've done it, you've finished y12

    How's everyone preparing for HSC?

Yup, 100% this. Exam technique is super important and not taught enough unfortunately.

Why do people go to multiple tutoring centres just for one subject? Is there any benefit to it?

lol, sounds like a wild waste of time. these people are going to be grossly unprepared for uni when they aren't spoonfed everything. less is more imo - you don't need tutoring to do well, particularly group tutoring. The main value imo is asking questions when you get stuck. A good teacher is...

Should I do bachelor nursing or a double degree in law and business?

Talk to lawyers, talk to nurses - see which one you would enjoy more. Both fields require dedication and passion, you need to be sure that you love it and will persevere when it gets hard

    USYD or Torrens?

Honestly yeah, there's a large gap in terms of "reputation" between USYD and Torrens, which sounds wanky, but is unfortunately true. However, you may find that you have a more tight knit experience at Torrens compared to USYD. Perhaps ask on the usyd subreddit as to whether they do use the...

    UNSW v USYD engineering?

Sure, if the candidates are IDENTICAL, then the engineering manager may go with a uni they are more comfortable with/alumni. But this never happens. Your skills, extracurriculars, grades etc.. are what dictate the success of your application. If you expect someone to be like "Oh wow, you went to...

    UNSW v USYD engineering?

If you're relying on the uni you go to for job prospects, you've done something very wrong
  15. D

    UNSW v USYD engineering?

Both are good, you should pick whether you like semesters or trimesters more

I need advice on whether to drop physics or software design and development.

Your y12 units have ZERO effect on what kind of job you get at uni. So go with physics since that's what you enjoy. But fyi, physics + software dev is a great combo at uni for finance type jobs

sydney boys high school interview 2023 yr 11 entry

Generic interview questions: why Sydney Boys, what do you have to offer the school, what are some achievements you're proud of, what are you passionate about, what are your weaknesses, do you have any questions about the school?

How to use the Physics reading time effectively?

I skim through the paper (particularly the 7-9 long response marker) so that I can have ideas beginning to form subconsciously. This should take me less than 60 seconds (I just want a vague idea of what sorts of problems I'll be encountering, I don't have to read every word). Then I start doing...

Has anyone every gotten a 100% in chemistry or physics trial (just curious)!!

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised. I got 98 at Grammar. I lost a mark on q1 of the multi choice (lol) and one mark on the final question because I drew a hydroxyl group as -OH instead of -O-H
