    Japanese extension 2015

I do extension and I love and hate it at the same time I love it because -It gives me the opportunity to talk about social issues/current affairs -1/4 of the assessment is basically just writing fanfiction HAHA -Analysing the film is pretty nice as well -Really helps with continuers (just from...

    HSC 2015 MX2 Marathon (archive)

    Re: HSC 2015 4U Marathon $ Let points P and Q be $ (x_{1},y_{1}) $ and $ (x_{2}, y_{2}) $ respectively. $ $ From implicitly differentiating $, m_{P} $ and $ m_{Q} $ are $ \frac{-2x_{1}}{3y_{1}} $ and $ \frac{-2x_{2}}{3y_{2}} $ respectively. $ $ If the tangents from P and Q meet at...

    HSC 2015 MX2 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2015 4U Marathon That was a fun question! At first I tried to brute force it with algebra but that failed miserably. Then it struck me that using a polynomials approach would get the proof much more elegantly and much faster as well Will post my answer as soon as I remember how to...

Do they study Shakespeare in English Extentsion 1?

You might (probably not) for prelim. But in the HSC, unless you do the really rare module Language and Gender (where you might study Twelfth Night if your teacher wants to), Ext 1 is Shakespeare free. Though if you do Romanticism you will encounter A LOT of poets and authors and critics who...

    Your subject regrets

Regrets: Biology for prelim. I actually didn't mind the subject itself but sciences are just not my thing :\ Should have done: Ancient History Not that it would have mattered since I would have dropped both when the HSC started

What is your HSC challenge gunna be?

My biggest obstacle is probably maintaining a consistent study regime for Japanese. I did alright for prelim just through a lot of passive study but I just feel it won't cut it for the HSC

    Workload between subjects combinations

dont listen to prince henry It is manageable but it will be a lot of work and you will need to be super organised. Only do it if you are really passionate about all your subjects. Passion will sustain you when your mind cannot.

    Anyone go tutoring?

From what I've heard/experienced matrix is pretty hit and miss, especially during the junior years

    Anyone go tutoring?

Went tutoring in year 9 at matrix to get ahead in maths. Ended up coming dead last. In all honesty, it depends where you go for tutoring. Afterwards I went to one of those hardcore asian teachers and I got back on my feet. However, just going tutoring doesn't guarantee good marks. I'd like...

    Should I drop Eng Ext?

Hmmm. My school's EXT 1 english cohort basically halved at the start of year 12 so I definitely see where you are coming from; the subject is quite demanding given that it's only 1 unit. I'd say wait until your first assessment, and if you don't do well, drop it. If you don't do well, no amount...
