Unsw law, lat + atar combo needed for entry

I wonder if it's because most people aren't aware that LAT exists

Why are people choosing to pursue a career in medicine?

Yea lol GPs make their diagnoses in like half a minute it's amazing. But I agree, it can feel like the consultation is rushed (even though they likely covered the important stuff)

Why are people choosing to pursue a career in medicine?

I think they use the computer to check the current best treatment/dosages rather than checking symptoms

    URGENT!

Since a psychiatry is a doctor/medical specialty, I don't believe there is! Unless someone else can correct me if I am wrong

URGENT! Is it possible for me to do medicine?

You mean for science in yr 9/10? I will be honest, 70% is sort of low (on medicine standards). Are you sure medicine is for you? Keep in mind, that it is very very competitive to get into medicine - and people who are hoping to get into medicines are usually getting 90/95%+ in exams.

URGENT! Is it possible for me to do medicine?

Just to throw this out there though - medicine at UNSW is very very very competitive and you need an extremely high atar. I know they say you should choose your favourite subjects - but with the subjects you listed there, how sure are you that you can achieve (ideally) a mid-high 99 atar to be...

URGENT! Is it possible for me to do medicine?

Guys dw, there is minimal maths in medicine. Outside public health (which is like super basics statistics) there is like no maths at all. The maths in public health is also really basic - I'd argue year 10 maths is sufficient. No heavy calculus involved haha. I'm not too sure why they wanted 2u...

Why are people choosing to pursue a career in medicine?

You still need money to get started tho... And it's not like medicine excludes you from starting your business (e.g. say, opening your own practice)

    Law + ATAR

The ATAR for UNSW/USYD will likely be a lot lower than 99.7 (or whatever their previous cutoff is) because of LSAT. If you didn't do LSAT then you can't receive offer from UNSW/USYD

Fourth year law student - ask me anything!

Is law as intense as they say? (in terms of hours of study each week, content or the like) What's the pass rate at USYD? How'd you land the clerkship? (Connections, excellent resume/grades, luck?)

    2016ers Chit-Chat Thread

Would mean those exams were similar difficulty. Haven't seen 2015 but I know 2014 was easier than years before and subsequently one of the least generous aligning (compared to previous years). Back when a low 90 could be close to state rank. I wish I did my HSC in those years haha.

Angels with ridiculously poor aligning... It's all relative unfortunately. Actually would have preferred a more difficult paper for that year (my year) feels bad.

Subject Selection + Do prerequisites for Medicine in NSW exist?

I honestly wouldn't be worried about that. Choose subjects that will get you a high atar. If chem isn't your thing, don't force yourself onto it. At most, you can use it in the interview - but the interview focuses more on your character, rather than your academics. Whether you did chemistry in...

Subject Selection + Do prerequisites for Medicine in NSW exist?

If you want relevance, then bio is the way. I mean there is a bit of chem but really they teach you everything from scratch such that there is no need to study chem in hsc to do well in med. p.s. neither is important for med. I think only Monash have chem as a pre-requisite. For all other...

Is this PenFox essay marking service suss???

Their website does seem interesting, as single essay marking is $9 whereas triple essay marking is $54. It might just be a temporary promotion. Also, I think I have heard of Penfox before - so I don't think it's a blackmarket 'murican company trying to steal your credit card details. Can't...
